It's said the placement of the replica fort is very accurate to the location of the origional.

That guy who is in the paper all the time said it was probably north of the city, around Ft. Bayou, if it wasn't in Biloxi.

There's deep enough water up there for a boat to get in; no way where the fort is being built now, probably not then either, seafloor not too much different than it was then.

I've heard that before. One guy who I heard talk about it claims it had to have been somewhere around Poitevent. Kinda near lovers lane in OS. Unfortunately from what I understand no actual archeological evidence has been found in any searches. All the speculation is based on historical documents, and some of those contradict.

Maybe one day something will turn up.

Interesting this should come up. I had a conversation this weekend about the 1699 cornerstone being in the Louisiana Museum (in Jackson Square) and that it had last been seen years ago around Lover's Lane b/f it was unearthed and washed ashore in Louisiana. Supposedly an historian tried to get the cornerstone back via letter but the curator over there applied the "possession is 9/10th of the law"

I know where it is, supposedly it is down lovers lane on the left behind one of the houses or property. It is said that they founde some exposed in the mud behind one of the large houses. The person however will not let anyone look further because he fears the city or state will take his land if the fort is found and identified. This is a pretty accurate report though.

I heard it was at 2nd and Fredrick st in Moss Point. Go out and have a look, maybe you will find some historical evidence showing so. The people there are a treat.

Lovers lane. I have been thinking about digging in some of the yards. Think they will mind?
