Mississippi judge jails attorney for not reciting Pledge of Allegiance

A Mississippi judge jailed a lawyer for several hours for refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, ordering the attorney to "purge himself" of contempt by standing and repeating the oath like the rest of the courtroom. Full Story

Despite how you feel about America its supposed to be people like you in our justice system that is to set an example. After all you are suppose to uphold our government system.... but sounds more like your one of those ambulance Casper kinda attorneys given your comments. Guess we shouldn't expect much out of some one like you. Very sad that you have given up and joined in with the rest of the idiots.
<quoted text>
We have so many laws that are failures or they do something other than what the politicians said they would do you not think that the intent of a law should be stated at the top of the legislation and then the law can be challenged when it does not meet its intent.

Kathleen, what does the Bible have to do with it? My child's Bible based school recites the pledge every day. In the Bible the people were very patriotic.

Like Aesop's Fables old stories have a metaphorical lesson to train the people of the survival conditions thousands of years ago.

stop repeating what you read and think for yourself. You think the country is so bad, then why are people risking life or imprisonment comming here illegally? we have problems to solve, and maybe it only gets worse now, but for now we arve the only defense against worldwide terrorism. we are not 'overrun' by illegals. unions have always exerted power, a problem being attacked now on a national scope. we are a republic,not a democracy. that means the will of the people is second to written law (Constitution). if 75% of voters wanted to abolish the 2nd amendment they could not do so. the Constitution prevails over all. the interpretation is the problem in the courts, where as you say we have judges trying to make law.

Good attorney! I do not recite the pledge either, nor do I salute the flag. Why bother, given that the country is overrun by illegal immigrants, that public employee unions bribe our politicians, that activist judges overturn the vote of the people, and that racial and gender quotas are used instead of merit?
The only thing this country MIGHT do for me is pay back what I put into Social Security. Then again, maybe it won't.

If you study law you will find Jefferson' Louisiana purchase was not allowed in the Constitution. The document is like clay to be molded with the whims of time.

u know i never post anything on these bitch sessions but this one i must. some folks just dont apprriciate a dang thing and thats sad. because I'm am very grateful. Maybe this attorney needs to take his ass to Iraq for 13 months before he will realize that he is proud and thankfull. He obviously doesnt realize what women and men have to go through to protect the USA . its not about how fu#ked up our government and leadership is . Its about that flag its about knowing u are an American and u are so thankful that we still have that flag and thankful someone hasnt come over here and got all up in our kool-aid and took our flag from us and tried to tell us how to run our shit over here like we try to do in everyother country insted of focusing on our own. ok im getting way off but damn man have some SELF PRIDE

Bet you didn't know, the words "Under God" were not added till 1948. The Founders had nothing to do with it!

Try it while you're driving your car down a busy interstate. Never mind, Gameel Batouti tried that s85t once and it killed all 217 people on board.
