I think people from one end of the state to the other will be outraged when the know that while their property values have decreased by 25-30% since 2007 the DMR was out buying property from family and friends using bogus values that show properties increased in value during the same period to more than a $1,000,000.per acre. Most are low floodplain locations that were go under water with a storm tide such as 323 Front Beach,13160 Hanover Drive,Rod and Real Road and Bay Sweep Circle. Some were business bailouts like Harbor Landing.

And it's the same people over and over as the property owners. Is there ANY instance of a regular citizen being bought out????? Just one?!?

Yall Politics.com has a good article on the DMR debacle and is totally on point.Time for WLOX and Ms.Press to at least piggy back on someone elses story since they will not do one of their own.OSSOMOM All property purchases are either family, associated cronies,or deals brokered by family.NOT ONE SINGLE FAMILY WITH A HOUSE THAT FLOODS THAT HAS A REAL NEED TO BE RELOCATED.JUST FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAMN IT!!!!!

That's what I figured. And did Harris' YADA charity EVER give money to anyone other than DMR Foundation?
Why is our governor doing nothing to make Walker step down from his appointed position? If it was any other business, that employee would be on a leave of absence.
What about the appraisal company, owned by an OS guy, will he be investigated for any malfeasance?
Is there a list of all property that has been bought out?

Because Bryant hasn't even been in there for a single year. And as an ex cop he doesn't really know how to tackle crime like this. To him these kinds of assholes were always his bosses. Who he knew were dirty but couldn't say anything about it.
Boss Hogg Barbour was putting up with & looking the other way for 8 long years while this shit went on. And many didn't want to say anything because they figured it was Katrina related.
Another reason simply put is that the leaders in the northern & central part of the state & even the mid southern region like Hattiesburg don't really feel like its their place to comment on what goes on down here.
They don't want to be dicks so they let the good old boy faction from the coast run their own shit & since the coast provides 40% of the total state budget they look the other way. We pay their paychecks & they don't want to piss us or Palazzo off, who's family is connected to this because of Cedar Pt.
They know if they piss him off the coast ppl could start demanding that Jackson take less of a cut from our casino & industrial tax revenues. In other words - they're afraid we'll stop propping up the rest of this failed state & keep more of our money.
Plus they view us as 'coast trash.' They know our culture down here is more like the New Orleans culture or more like the culture that you see in places like Mobile or Pensacola. We have a lot more military people & transplants from places like California or Yankee what they view as carpetbaggers from the north.
We don't have the same kind of social hierarchy like they have in Jackson or Natchez or Tupelo -- that "Old Miss" or "Old South" crap with the old money plantation class.
Many also maybe @ most come down here maybe once or twice a year & view the DMR as more of "their territory". Since they live 100+ miles from the beach & never go out on the water they don't view it as 'their turf' & let the crooked good old boy idiots like the Walkers & Palazzos have free reign.
That's why we need a federal audit. The GOP in Jackson doesn't want to fragment the state into regions & give the Democrats a chance to take advantage of it in the legislature. It'll take a federal accounting to sort out this clusterfuck.
And also its probably because the people up in the northern part of the state have their hand in the public cookie jar too in other ways. I'm sure Mr. Bryant & the Lt. Governor have gotten or get various goodies from different lobbies like how Barbour & Reeves would get payouts from the Choctaws or from the companies who owned the Miss. River casinos in Greenville or Tunica. They're probably afraid that if a spotlight gets put on the coast good ol' boys that the Feds may put a magnifying glass on property sales they probably did for their family up in the northern part of the state. River front property up that way is over-priced too & they probably offloaded some of the shit to the state's books for a pretty penny.
Turn on the lights & all the roaches scatter so to speak. I used to live up near Columbus & Tupelo for a few years, there are state senators & state officials on the take, just like down here, & they don't want to get on the coast good ol' boy factions 'territory" w/out fearing they could 'upset' the balance & fuck up the corruption & backroom land deals that happen in other parts of the state. Crooks, the whole lot of them.

It's about time for people to call out all that are involved, that are stealing out tax dollars! The plot gets deeper..deeper..and deeper, to profit the pockets of a select few (the Crooks) for too many years! It's time Justice is served!!
