I reviewer thinks they are great while 1000's of others think the opposite.

You must have blinders on! I have been through your Town and met your Town cop and if that's all you have, your Town will never prosper. You will know what I mean when every thing has been thoroughly investigated. Your little Town nestled there in the valley is beautiful, but your Town officials (cops) makes it very unpleasant to enjoy the scenery. The last times I have been through your State, I've driven hundreds of miles out of the way to avoid driving through Gauley Bridge and one of my favorite scenic routes (Rt60). Your police department, Town hall needs restructured!

P.S. - Lets not even mention the amount of drugs flowing around Gauley Bridge at this time. Scrabble Creek, old Regina Apartments (need I say more)... But the town can't extort any money out of that so it goes ignored.

<quoted text> ou come on as "Gauley Bridge Police" really, you are so pathetic, actually there are thousands that feel the same as posted, there are a small few like yourself, that have a problem with Law enforcement, usually the ones who lack in self confidense or simply cannot obey the Law so they find themselves getting tickets, so you blame the police for your decisions! NORMAL people, appreciate Law Enforcement and respect the job they do to protect us against your type.... so with that said, take your plastic badge off and get a real job cowboy.
Looks like you are the only one.

<quoted text> the only reason you would avoid the area is if you had a reason to, like breaking the law... I drive through and enjoy the senery all the time with no fear of getting a ticket, of course I am doing the speed limit!! I have no fear of getting a ticket in smitters or montgomery, cedar grove, charleston, etc....same reason, I am DOING THE POSTED SPEED!!!
And I too do the speed limit and do not break the law in any way when I'm in your Town! You are right about me having a reason for avoiding your fair Town, and it's not for me breaking the law. As I said earlier, " Your Town officials need restructuring" So any of you who agree, I would say just be patient. You can not see your Town when you're inside looking out, but when you're outside looking in you have a much broader picture.

To this COWARDLY individual who posts under the ID "Imbo". Why don't you use your name??? You keep defending a position that you cannot win. Take a look at you fine GBPD. Yes there are a couple of fine officers that are trying to do their job with dignity such as Officer Bisey (hope I got the spelling right). But the fine Whipkey brothers. Lets review... They both got fired out of Summersville for having a 3way with a girl in a police cruiser. Really, is that you best to put up. And another officer was fired out of Clendenin after moving in with a girl known for doing more drugs than Tony Montana... In todays Gazette the Mayor stated that there is a 9MPH over cushion on the speed limit. And I just saw the Loch Ness Monster in Scrabble Creek!!! Just wait till the next funeral at Penningtons and watch the vultures circle. ESPECIALLY out of state tags. You might as well EXPECT to get pulled over if you are out of state. Our fine Mayor's office and police chief know that someone from Wyoming isn't gonna show for a hearing in 10 days ans will just write a check... By the way, again, get a spine and a name. I went to Gauley bridge middle and high schools and have lived in the area my while life. You???

When the Whipkeys were fired from Summersville, they sued the town but agreed to drop the lawsuit if Summersville didn't void their police certification. I spoke to the former Summersville Chief and he said the lawsuit was not pursued because of the cost involved to fight the suit. He later admitted it was a mistake and the the Whipkeys should have lost thier certification. Incidently, most of the time when a town cop is fired for misconduct, the town does not void thier police certification and the fired cop simply moves to another small town in WV to carry on with his misconduct.
To correct a poster above, last year the legislature passed a law that allows any town (regardless of population) with a certified radar operator to use radar for passing out tickets.
Check this out at WVstate code and use radar as the key word.

How many poeple in and around Gauley Bridge have died because of some involvement with the town cops? Lets see, Cane Branch Road, Connie Harvey being pursued to Alta and in a car wreck, Jim Childers? etc. and several more.

I know of several because I used to live there.

Gauley Bridge getting investigated... Imagine That! This is great news!! I sure hope that the corrupted Po Po are sent packing out of town. Then I will once again drive through this scenic area. BTW... who are they kidding with claiming that a 9mph buffer is given?? Maybe if you're living in town, but not if you're out of State with kayaks on the vehicle.

I see that the anonymous "Imbo" has removed his posts, OR the site removed them due to the insane nature of his comments. For an unknown reason he has chosen to hide his name and post in defense of the currupt Gauley Bridge Police force and Mayors office. His last post that addressed me he used the term "facts". Well it is a fact that the Whipkey brothers were s***canned from the town of Summersville for coercing a female into a 3sum in a patrol car. She rolled on them and they were fired. Mr. Imbo stated something about that "was in the past", as if we should ignore it. I bet Mr. Imbo was the pride of his debate team. Another fact is the small town of Gauley Bridge (population barely over 600) issues more traffic citations that any other town, city or municipality in the state of West Virginia. I suppose we are to believe that our little Gauley Bridge is this serverly out of control, lawless place where there is a need for a crackdown on traffic crime. Get a grip...

I have a camera in my car now to record every speed I drive and if they were to pull me over again it will be recording them. I recorded my conversation with the mayor Hogan and turned it in to the DMV.I told them your sins will find you out.Karma has landed in Gauley Bridge.

looks like the boys are done. Gazette reporting 3 officers resigned. You have to give this mayor credit, he sure is trying hard to spin it the best he can. Not many people could make three resignations seem so commonplace
