Why do u people get on here and slam mgh? I mean you are the ones that would be there when you have chest pain, headache etc. Yes it has it problems but so does the hospitals in charleston and all across the country. So please be thankful you still have a place to come to even it is to get u to charleston to save your life or a family members. They have some really GREAT nurses that are just as good If not better than doctors!! So back off! And suite 101 has some good doctors if you dont like them move on

I seen a woman on a billboard in Smithers advertising it.

She's a FNP, but is that the same thing as a doctor? Can she prescribe medications?

If so, I'd like to see her. I've always wanted a white female doctor. Female, because I'm really shy discussing some of my problems with guys. White, because I swear...I am horrible at accents. I mostly nod and smile at what the doctor says then ask the nurse WTF?

FNP is most certainly not the same thing as a doctor.

FNPs are nurse practitioners. They have prescribing authority, but it is limited -- refills expire in 6 months instead of 12 months, controlled substances can only be for a 72-hour supply with no refills, can't prescribe things like blood thinners, etc. Every FNP I've ever had experience with has been good!

I take medication for heart problems, but not blood thinning problems. Could she prescribe that?

Are there any other female doctors around?

she is an fnp, she maybe able to prescribe it since it is a maintenance drug. I see her and there is also a female dr at the office, christina hawkins, that the fnp works under, the fnp name is cervera, she is great.

There are reasons patients leave, and i was one of them. after no appt reminder for the 3rd time, i got pissed and refused to walk through those doors ever again. Also, they didnt update my pphone number to tell me that my dr was no longer there, and i needed to reschedule, therefore i showed up for nothing. im not downing mgh, they just need to get their act together. its not the doctor staff, its office staff and their directors. how do you expect people to get to their appts if they arent reminded? something is wrong if they arent allowed to call out.
