Here is the only thing obvious to me...you are a loser. If you have nothing better to do than to get only this Stupid site and bash any CHIlD for their efforts, then you are either jealous or ignorant one...possibly both. What kind of coward are you to call a child out and yet you are not even man enough to post your real name.
Well Mr. The Obvious I have never heard that name before. But I guess you must not want people to know you. As far as bashing a CHILD I think you need to understand that Collier should be out of the kiddy stage by now. When the facts are started then I don't see it as bashing noone. The truth hurts a lot of times that's life and I don't feel the need to sugar coat it. My point is had we played ball against Lebanon like we did the other 3 games we should have slaughtered them. But the coaches little princesses all recovered from injuries just in time for an easy win. So when you except that GC football is all about who you are and not how good you are then you will understand.

Some of these so-called fans on here need to "man-up" themselves and go to the coaches and administrators and tell them all of the things they are doing wrong. These pathetic people get on here and call out children and defend their stupidity when confronted with it. Leave the kids alone and "man-up" yourselves if you think you know it all. We teach our kids to respect their elders, but it gets harder to teach that when the elders are acting immature and childish.

I totally agree with Pitiful Fans if you people have anything to say about the coaching staff please say it to them. Please leave he children out of it and especially putting it in here. That is just such a low thing to do. There is nothing cute about it.

Ok 1st. Its just a game...they are called STUDENT Athletes for a reason. A few will be able to gain a COLLEGE EDUCATION with their talents but not all. Even fewer will go onto the pros.

So with that said it should be remembered that although bashing kids seems to be your life it is NOT the lifes of these kids. They have futures...yes they will go to college and you will work for them one day because they are going to take the hard work and discipline that it takes to wear the blue jersey and make something of themselves. I doubt any of these critics ever made it through Big Blue two a days or ever got their bell rung on the field trying to bring pride to our city.

Last, critics...you DO NOT play for the Greenbay Packers so get a life. Pretty Sad you are! I think I can descibe the critics as the TRUE LOSERS here!!!!

Turns out Darren Reed was a pretty damn good coach after all. At some point the establishment will run out of people to blame.

It is time for change coaches should only be allowed to coach one sport. If a kid hates the coach and he is doing it all the kid may never play anything. Then to the play calling time for the coaches that have been there to leave get some up to date coaches . The kids dont come out because of the abuse and the stupid play calling like last night against union.its not the talent of the kids its the coaches who dont know how to coach defense leave please save us all the down yrs

Really people???? It's Child's play! It should be about the children and for the children. The BIGGEST problem is grown men trying to rectify their short comings. I'm sorry you never got to play pro ball. However using these boys to try to feel a sense of accomplishment through their achievement is PATHETIC! For parents who allow their sons to play....... I hope it's that important when your child suffers physically for a lifetime over injuries in a HIGH SCHOOL game.
True! It is kinda creepy for middle aged men to be so obsessed with a buncha 16/17 year old kids!!! If they have relatives....sons, nephews, etc.--it would be different! Also, with the school cranking out MORONS thanx to SOL's and No Child Left Behind, and budgets being cut for REAL education, who gives a f**k about a buncha teenagers' football team!!

You cant win every year..you guys want to blame coaches and school officials. You want to blame players too. Truth is the talent just isn't here. Its a hs team not college. Before the 70 s the Devils were unknown. Well we are heading back to that time. Its over its not coming back. Gate City had a good 30 yr run. It thrived because we could pull from a pool of players. Sometimes a team had 50 to 60 players...no more....the talent moved away...we no longer have a large student body to recruit from...you now have less than maybe 20 players..no one is here because they're no jobs to keep the families here. No the glory days are gone....they aren't returning. Settle in and cheer your team and support them, but don't expect a state championship or a district. Those days are gone...

I think you make some very good points, the talent level is down across the board. We have some good players just not enough. And it may get worse as the VHSL is lifting their restrictions on the amount of time the kids can practice. As I understand it, they will be allowed to practice almost year round. Which is not fair imo to about 98% of the kids. We have very few kids that are going to get scholarships and year round practice will start taking its toll on a lot of the players. Kids are only kids once and who wants to spent 4 years of high school practicing football.

No offense, you played great teams, yes. You also played not so great and okay teams your size or a little larger or smaller and lost. Gate City had several issues.

No, you guys sucked. I'm a fan and past player for GC and you guys sucked ass. You all were small, slow, couldnt block a soul, and had maybe 30 kids dressed out. Dont blame coaching or big teams for the worst year in our history. And big schools? Shit,,give me a break. Play back in the late 90's those schools would kill everyone now days. Hit the weights and quit bitchin.

The past was great for those of the past. But who cares about the past? Now is now and football is what it is. Get a life the world has more to offer than football.

old school blue devil you don't get it do you? the coaches suck not the kids. do the coaches just let em screw around in the weight room or do they make sure they work out. you gotta have good coaches and the students will have good morals and really try. these kids are just normal kids like you guys were when you were playing. having the coaches to make sure they do it right without treating them like they are a piece of meat might help!! and why all the houserights? something needs to be done about that. favoritism is well and thriving in gc. hear that school board! why did erica fugate not get any recognition from her coach when she broke the 1000 point record?

Coaches can lead their players so far. It's up to the players to do the work. Just like the old Powell Valley and Appalachia teams, those days could be leaving. This goes in cycles. Quit making excuses and support your team. Team support may at times require brutal honesty. To be brutally honest, GC was pretty rough this season. Accept it and quit blaming the coaching staff. A team requires a mutual effort among the players and coaching staff.

All we ever do at workouts now is run and cardio. And then we do timed stations. We hardly ever get to workout how we want. If we got to workout on our own time and get a better workout. And I agree, football aint the same as it used to be
