i was told the kids looked like they hadn't been to the weight room. i was also told that you could see fat rolls hanging out of their jersees. what is the matter? has the well run dry or is the coaching staff to rough on the guys with their vile tongues? one especially. i have also heard their was a few quit because of a young man that helps coach!

This is a rebuilding year for the Blue Devils after losing players from last year's state championship squad. They lost two workhorses in the backfield in Clark and Vaughn from last year as well as several other great players. I'm sure they'll reload soon enough

A coach leads a team to a state championship and you complain??? Some of you people are pathetic. The world isn't sugarcoated and fair so some of you get your feelings hurt. You have a great coach who deserves more than being abused anonymously on a message board.

my son despised bh years ago when he was with colobro and he busted his a-- for him. now i know you gotta be tough on them and there is a thin line and these coaches often cross it!!.

Anyone could have one a state championship last year. Colobro had them kids built up for it. They run 10 plays on offense and expect to beat teams like that. This is a totally new team and they are trying to mimic last years team

. I agree. Last years team was talented enough that anyone could have taken them to State and won.

You have obviously never coached a meaningful down of football in your life if you truly believe that "anyone could have taken them to state and won." That is an assinine comment from a disgruntled person with an axe to grind. Every coach of every high school that I have ever known would tell you that BH accomplished a tough task last year. The fact that you all resort to this type of pathetic attack on a PROVEN coach shows that I will waste my time in an endless argument because you will never see logic. I am not a friend of this coaching staff nor have I ever worked with them at any point, I just know their work.

Whatever you say. I will always stand behind the players. Good coaches run the ball up the middle 70 times a game, right? That's not gonna fly this year partner. Half our team is injured because of it. No depth to put other guys into the spots that carry the ball. You're ignorant if you think this "old school" is always going to work.

Sandy Ravage I had the privilege of playing for both Coach Colobro & Coach Houseright and can tell you that both are great coaches. Players get hurt because it is a physical game. Practice hard play hard and have fun. It is apparent that your impression of the game either came from the sideline or stands.

BH doesn't call offense. Maybe you should find out who does before running your mouth so much... and if you say that he is responsible because he is head coach, we will all know that you don't know squat about football.

Doesn't one of his sons call the plays along with the coaches in the box.

He can step in and say something to the O Coord. and I do know who that is. But he doesn't care obviously that we can't get our defense off the field. I played for Colobro. If you noticed..when we threw the ball against Sullivan South...we scored...?

must have not payed attention then. the drive we scored on was mostly passing the ball. We just don't have the amount of players to do this year what we did last year..simple enough. 2 more got hurt last friday

Just responding to your overt exaggeration "we threw....we scored!" Gate City doesn't have the experience with the talent that they had last year. I don't know why people aren't smart enough to recognize that instead of the attack on the coaches. Knowing most of these coaches, I'd say that they will bring the team around as much as possible, but every year may not be a winning year.

I know, Every year might not be a winning season, but we have a ton of great seniors this year. Just nobody to come in for them when they get tired. If you notice every score before half time is extremely close. And basically that is how it happened, throwing made us less predictable so we COULD run a little bit. But most of the yards on that drive were through the air. We have a decent staff I just wish they were a little less predictable..that's what is killing us at the moment.
