i am the father of kevin long. i know just two years ago my son had schools looking at him to play basketball. now he is looking at a long time in prison. there is no way kevin would have done this without being forced to do so. as you can see the black guy is smiling for the cameras and looks like this isnt a serious matter. my son is a good kid just makes some bad decisions at times. there is no way he wouldve done this without being forced to do it. as you know jalen davidson is the one who went into the bank. not kevin. where was kevin when all of this was going down. and the police said there were two guys waiting outside in the car when jalen ran from the bank. why is he not in custody? they put my son in jail so where is the other guy? maybe the police targeted my son? it was three who was at the bank and only two went to jail. it just doesnt make any sense to me. the gaston county police are crooked and play up to the cameras for publisity.

Was he forced to commit these charges that just happen to also be stealing? I see a pattern.
"Long was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. He is currently on probation for convictions of felony breaking and entering and larceny, according to the N.C. Department of Correction."

the breaking and entering was something that happened because of his girlfriend and him was going through a nasty split. the guys house happened to be the father of his girlfriend. so he did it cause he was mad at her. no one got hurt and he thought it would be a way to get back at his girlfriend. he would never hurt anyone . he just makes bad decisions. he comes from a good home but he hangs around the wrong people. weve tried everything to get him to change the crowd he hangs around but no success. i dont want to see him go to prison. he wouldnt have sat in the car if he was wanting to be apart of the robbery. he knew it was wrong then.he knows right from wrong. he has so much potential and i pray he gets to use it...

thats the problem with people now a days . they judge people prematurely. if a cop says you did it then you did it right? half the people in this country that are incarcerated are innocent. my son was judged prematurely and now what happens. he know he shouldnt have been in the car but he didnt go in the bank. so is he guilty by association? if so thats bullshit...

Let me tell you one thing a "nasty split doesn't cause someone to break in that persons FATHERS house and take HIS belongings. Don't bring me up in this. Like said above its a pattern. No one forced him to do this. He makes his own decisions and they've never been good.

I see where Kevin Jr.'s problems come from. Any Dad who can sit here and say his grown son is so easily influenced that he would rob a bank and break into someone's home because of a bad split needs serious help. AND you should not be raising any more kids until you can learn how to teach them accountability. You also need to learn how to have accountability if you really think the crap you said even seems half way true. Sir we all make decisions and after a certain age, we have to learn the consequences of them and take credit for the good and bad that we do. Maybe your son has some sort of drug problem if he can stop robbing people. Has he robbed you yet? Perhaps he is seeking the attention of "bad crowds" because he is not getting the right attention at home?? Something is not clicking with him. He had one chance after only getting probation and he screwed it up. It seems like you need help too so that you can better assist him with his future and help him learn to think for himself. Blaming others for his problems is not the way to do that.

I think you should know what you are talking about before you judge a person. Haley I do believe you were just charged yourself for some things that you arent proud of I think you need to worry about being a good mother to yalls baby and leave Kevin alone and the breaking and entering thing Kevin did not do some friends of his did and like he said guilty by association is bs. He can not help things that his friends do. So for you people who dont know Kevin or anything about his previous charges mind your own business I dont think you are God so you have no right to judge!!! Keep your head up Kevin you will be fine!!

your post sounds like you raised him to believe that all of his bad acts are really someone else's fault. Is that how you have lived yourself? How far has the apple fallen from the tree? Is he a chip off of the old block? Did you raise him to be a thief? If not, whose fault is it now that he is proven to be. was he a good kid before a fluke? Which is his true nature? The good kid or the bad kid? How does society judge? We see a thief, what do you think we should do? How many times do we say ok, go and sin no more?

Quit making excuses for your son. Stop blaming other people for what he has done. This stuff has gotten real serious. Another chance? Seems to be getting worse not better. Who you gonna blame when he kills someone? The gun. I think he is out of second chances.
