This is a shame

The Journal Register will stop publishing on Thursdays in the very near future. That will mean the paper will only be published Monday-Wednesday-Friday. It is an absolute shame what that corporate that owns the paper has done to it over the 15 years they have owned it. They have taken it from over 5000 papers a day to less than 2000. Penny-wise and pound foolish. It's a shame they won't sell it to a local concern...people who respect it and would return it to its rightful place, that of a watchdog, informer and conscience of the community.

Citizen Kane...lol. But seriously, hyper-local watchdog would be a great role for the paper. It's useless right now.

The J-R is dead on arrival most days, hell Jim Krencik is with the Daily News now. And as for watchdog, informer or conscience to the community the Orleans Hub that is starting will not report anything that the politicians don't want seen, which will be sad!

They had control over the J-R to. Did any reporter follow up on the audits? Same people who mismanaged still have a job. No one questioned them. They always get away with it.

Get used to it....that is how a lot of Albion People felt when the Albion Advertiser went out and we had to rely on Medina to give us our news.
In the future, the printing press will be in museums. All the new generation wants to do is stare at a phone or electronic pad for thier news. Someday when you see the Journal rack empty, blame the internet and cell phone people. People hardly wear wrist watches. The digital camera is almost gone. People use cellphone for alarm clock in the morning...the list goes on and on. U.S Mail taking it in the ass with email... When they fugure out how to ship boxes and parcels over the internet, UPS will die too.... maybe it will be a while for that.

The J-R never wrote a story about the Lyndonville audit so there was no follow up or questions asked. The Batavia News wrote a story but never asked any questions either so it looks like nothing will ever come of the findings nor anyone held accountable. It is a shame. People get the government they deserve.

Honestly, would the people do anything about it anyway? No one runs or is picked that is not connected to the OC mafia. Believe me i know mafia and how they operate. Its all kept in the family. The news papers been controlled by OC mafia for ever. A example of OC mafia would be the beloved Bob Waters. They kiss his hand and his ass. Reminds me of MR Burns the old lizard looking thing that will never die and controls everything on the Simpsons.

Has anyone visited the Orleanshub site yet? Looks like we are keeping pace with the rest of the news world and having access to local news online!
