You are only subject to arrest, if you consume those alcoholic drinks and then operate a motorized vehicle (truck, care, boat, motorcycle, etc., or if you become obviously intoxicated in a public place. You can have 20 drinks, just don't attempt to operate machinery, or have an argument while under the influence!

Hey I live in Lockport and I take offense to your comment. You can't just lump everyone in a city and say they are all alike.

DWAI is actually a misdemeanor, which last time I checked is a criminal offense. Yes, they usually drop your first DWI down to a DWAI but if you fail to learn your lesson, as long as your BAC is below the DWI mark, you can technically get as many DWAI's as you can afford to pay for without going to jail.
After your second impaired...DWAI...and then being convicted of your third..the 1192.1, which still looks like the violation, can be sentenced as an unclassified misdemeanor, which is equivalent to an A misd. The state legislature is always changing laws and it is hard to keep up..so best to just not get involved with the criminal justice system. Even the judges have to look up the law and the punishments...daily!

Both teachers seem like young ladies trying to be 20 again. Both women walked into teaching positions right away, and one had three children in the mean time. On the other hand I am an older teacher who can't seem to break into the public school system. I am not a drunk or an abuser. Go ahead, hire more 22 year old teachers!

WOW And I want this woman as my kid's teacher? NOT! She should never be able to be a teacher again. The children see this on the news.

Teachers need to be held to a higher standard of conduct as they are role models and set the example for our kids. No, they shouldn't be driving drunk. No, they shouldn't be dating students, no they shouldn't be snorting coke in front of the class (the sub) etc etc etc. If they can't meet the level of responsiblity, fire them. Ok, we dealt with the teachers, now how about the parents....

The law is now a days 1st DWI is a felony .So some one please explain how this woman gets 4 (felonys) since like April 07 ..And still is driving around ??
Impound her car, toss her in jail for a week to detox her .By the sounds of it she really needs to be stopped before she kills some one ...

The law is not a felony for the first DWI. It is still a misdemeanor and if you get another with in 10 years of that, then it is a Felony.

Has she been released on bail? Someone at the Lockport US&J board said that she is, but I can't find any other source to verify this.

Usually, in liberal New York, the first DWI (misdemeanor offense) is pleaded down to DWAI, which is non-criminal.
