Lockport Council repeals sex offender buffer zone law
Despite urgings from some residents to defy Albany and the courts, the Lockport Common Council unanimously repealed the city's sex offender buffer zone law Wednesday.

Why did the morons waste time and resources (money) to enact a law that was unenforceable to begin with????? These are our "leaders"???????

Courts operate on the principle of supremacy, where no state law is allowed to be more severe than a federal law, and no local law is allowed to be more severe than a state law. Because of that principle, sex offenders have filed lawsuits against communities with more-restrictive laws(10/06/2012, Buffalo News).
