homeowners....Good Realtors have been established for years. They are not hard to find. Many live in the area they do business in, or maybe in the next area close by. Look at it like a job interview.
Experience matters and background checks on the individual you are considering should be done just like you would if you were renting your apartment.
But take it a step further, check who else works at that Real Estate office to.
It take one hardworking person to sell your home not 500 agents who may be with a Real Estate. And if you lived in your home for many years, developed a friendship with neighbors, or have relatives living close by, you typically care like many and hope to find a buyer, that will equally enjoy your home.
So if you do your homework, check the agent or Broker out, be selective.
If that Real Estate Office has a web site, take a look at who works there.
See yourself how many work there, which may or may not be a factor, but look and see if the agents that work there have their names displayed, or their photo's.
NOW IT MAY BE CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU TO MAKE A DECISION AND PICTURE
ALL THOSE AGENTS COMING TO YOUR HOME WITH BUYERS.
A NEIGHBORHOOD REALTOR, WHO LIVES IN THE AREA, AND THE SALES AGENTS WHO WORK IN THAT OFFICE LIVES IN THE AREA, CAN BE MORE BENEFICIAL TO A HOMEOWNER.
But when the Broker, and majority of agents do not live in the area they are servicing, then you may not want to hire that Realtor to sell your home.
In this Hot Market right now, it takes a good experienced agent about 4-8 weeks to sell a home that has been priced correctly.
FORGET SIGNING A 6 MONTH EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT.
REPUTATION IS OF IMPORTANCE, BESIDES EXPERIENCE.
SO IF YOU ARE APPROACHED BY A REALTOR/FRANCHISE CHECK THEM OUT.
AND IF THEY HAVE A WEB SITE, IT CAN BE TO YOUR BENEFIT TO SEE WHO WORKS THERE, & WHO WILL BE COMING TO YOUR HOME!
