I have had it for about 1.5 months and have had no problems. Sounds very clear, even got to keep my old number.

If you sign up for it remember. If the cable-T.V. goes off,
"So does the phone."

If the power goes off, you will not have phone service. Also, I am not satisfied at all with their service. My phone is always doing something like going straight into voice mail when someone calls or giving a busy signal instead of a dial tone when I try to make a phone call. I am in a contract with them for 2 years. Not sure how I will make it that long with them. :(

If the power goes off, the systems has a 48 hour back up battery, so you would still have service for 48 hours.

I am def getting their internet. Frontier's service is horrible and slow and when you call them they act like nothing is wrong and it must be an issue on your end. they offer high speed but its nowhere near what you are supposed to get

The power is "NOT" the problem.
It's the overgrowth of tree's on the lines.

Bad Weather.
At 10:23pm Some of the T.V. channels in my area went offline.
You folks maybe better off going with Direct-tv/Dish-Network. I know I am.

i left shentel almost 2 years ago. in my area (roderfield) they wouldnt take care of the lines. when the weather would get bad, even just rain, our service would go out for a week and it was hard to get them to come fix it. and need i say it wasnt just me, it was the whole neighborhood. as much as i have trouble with my frontier dsl, and would like cable internet, even if they get it down here, i doubt i'd switch back to shentel. also they had us owing a back-bill of over $300 but yet when we switched, somehow they found the mistake and only owed them $50 (for the time between our last bill and when we disconnected), shady much? i have directv, and we love it. we have never had trouble out of the service, only when it snows, if it snows a lot you might have to get the snow off the dish but hey, thats with any satellite. i also get more channels than in the same priced package with dish, but some people might want to bundle with frontier for that, either one is better than shentel

is this new because when i had them 2 years ago this wasnt in place, unless this is new because of the phone service.

I'm gonna call Direct T.V. and Dish to see what kind of a deal they can give me if I sign-up.

The one that gives me the best deal will get my business/money.

definitely. i wasn't saying that you should go for Directv, each persons preferences are different. Just directv offered more of the channels i wanted than dish. i have friends with both directv and with dish, and they are both equally satisfied
