Give them some & I'll lay money on it the crime will lower & I'm not talking about jobs like Mcdonalds,Rally's,Family Dollar, & hundreds of others in Gary that pay minium wage or a little extra. The city needs jobs & companies to provide LIVING WAGES!!! Now I think everybody will agree with me that if even you work 40 hours a week if you're only getting $5.15 to $7.00 an hour you can't pay bills,provide food & clothes for yourself, not to include auto repairs & maintence, let's not forget the killer in everybody's paychecks : bills. Take all of that into consideration plus they might have to care about somebody like a child & don't forget that a person by the name of Uncle Sam takes out a thing called
taxes which cuts your pay even less.You want to fix the problem of crime in Gary you got to look at all
the factors. In plain flat out words get something other than sweatshops & low good enough for a high school freshman paying jobs

I am from Gary, and it is sad how people always have something Negative to say.Yes Gary is bad but instead of coplaining and putting the city down try to do something that can help better it.Talking about the city is not going to do anything to make the problems go away, and not everyone in Gary are bad, and THUGS.So please work harder on making things happen for the city instead of talking bad about it.....

im from gary and it is what iti is. yea iits nothing there so what you expect. everybody want to talk bad about our city but they not doing any thing to help us. thats why people do what they do. im only 21 i been there done that but i wanted to better myself so i joined the military. i made mistakes growing up but i learned from them. if you can make it in gary you can make it anywhere. all i got to say is i love my city. if u dont dont go there.

I'm from Gary and it is a dump. Not all bad, but mainly a dump. If people start saying good things about Gary, do you think it will make it better? Rudy Clay tried it and shortly after there were some crimes that gained national media attention. If you put a nuns dress on a prostitute, she will still be a prostitute. If you plant roses in a pile of manure, you will still have a manure pile. The best thing to do is leave Gary. There is nothing there but corruption and a few jobs in the mill.

im from gary and now live in denver. i moved here in 91 and never looked back since. i know my city where i grew up at was bad. now all of you all out there complaining listen to this. i was born in 69.i graduated in 87. i left to go to the marine corps to better my self and it worked out fine. i went to college in iowa and did fine.i wanted to better my self and i did.the morale to the story is get out there and do something to
better yourself and stop blaming your peers, the city your from and society for your failures!!! get out and make your city better if can and yourself!!!!!!

ilive in gary now and im tired of hearing everyone talk like we the wost city in the world . please lets be real chicago is way way badder than our city . every day they kill kids.letalong adults but kids . at least ours go to school and not worry about getting shot at school. so look at other b4 u judge us holla.

I live in Gary the biggest problem here is the lazy uncareing police department. I am 63 years old. my son (27) and I went to visit my oldest son on the east side we pulled up to his building and honked twice for him to come out (our signal) he hopped out of bed and came out to see what his mother wanted,he had on jogging pants and a robe we were surounded within seconds. they had myself and my children give them our ID and started to harrass my oldest because he had no ID on him I had to ask the rude policeman If he carried A ID in his PJ,s. I forgot to add we were surounded by at least 7 cars what bothered me was on my way there we passed several groups if women and men on corners who looked shady to me and anybody else i told this to the policemen and you know what he said give me a list of these people and he would take care of it.......I raised all of my children to respect the law I raised 4 children and I never had to bail any of them out of jail I was truly blessed raising them in this hellhole of a city.......I was so upset I raiseed them to respect themselves and every body else I started to report them and make a complaint but I had a frend who reported somebody on the pforce and they had to leave town the whole family was terrorised and property vandaled. You have to earn respect it's not attached to your badge
