The correlation between loosing ones virginity and delinquent behavior proves nothing. Too many people try to make cause and effect relationships out of nonsense because it helps to push a political agenda. How about a more realistic correlation such as kids who loose their virginity younger spend less time playing video games?

Aren't you the one who was shagging the 32 year old when you were 15? I think I read that on another thread.
In that case--I'm only 31. Do you have a daughter?
Yes that was me- I lost my virginity at 15 to the 32yr old- I seduced him because I wanted to have sex and I am 23 now and have no daughter- sorry- Still I think I have grown up ok- never in trouble- maybe a little confused sexually, but that is why we are young- to experiment- right?

While early sex may not make for bad kids; from what I have seen and heard in my part of the world, it is the bad kids that tend to participate in early sex. At my secondary school, it was the bad kids that lost their virginity in Third and Fourth Form, and the good kids lost their virginity later, if at all during their school years.

I was raped as a kid. It wrecked my life.

Little kids are being sexualised. They should be playing and doing kid stuff, not having sex.

Some folk are determined to legalise paedophilia. THATS what this is all about! Dirty bas*ards!

It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to find a 'cause' for a behavior. Despite what "behavioral geneticists" claim, there are NO single genes which cause any type of behavior. Just because they have a fancy name doesn't mean that they are any closer than most psychiatrists are to figuring out what makes people tick.
Ah, but there have been suggestions based upon real evidence, which can be interpreted to say that some genes can affect behaviour in a certain way, by making a person more predisposed to act and react in a certain way, however these things are not set in stone, and so the reasons for a person to act in such a way may never happen.

An example is a study done into eating disorders and twins. 200 Monozygous twins[MZ](came from same egg, identical) and 200 Dizygous twins[DZ](came from two eggs, non identical) were taking part in the study to see whether there was a relation between genes and eating disorders. It was found that in 85% of the MZ twins, both twins had developed the eating disorder, and not just the one, and in the DZ twins, only in 38% of the cases did both twins develop the eating disorder. This suggests that genes play a role in the development of psychological behaviour.

I was sexually abused by a 24 year old stripper when I was 14. I would just like to say... Bootylicious, you know who you are, thanks for the memories.

I find it humerous that people still even read "studies". It's like waiting to see what the Weatherman is going to say before you get dressed... go outside!! Teenage sex has been happening, and will continue to happen til the end of time. Wanna do a study? Go to your neighborhood high school. I guarantee that the 15 y/o couple locked in mommy & daddy's bedroom at a house party haven't read any "studies" as to whether they should do it or not!
