The weekend was great! The races sponsored by Three Rivers Outboard Racing Association were awesome!( www.trora.com ) Can’t wait for them to be back next year!! How great would it be to have them race twice a year, once on the north and again on the south shores. Can you say Nationals ??

The music, what can you say, one of the best “concerts” you could have all summer long, 2 stages 38 bands something for everyone!(This line up was worthy of much bigger venues, like Blossom Music Center) Mostly All Original music, with some covers here and there, what a performance !!! And what a surprise it was when HIGH ENERGY, a late add-on, walked out on stage, 2 brothers (11 and 12 years old) and started jamming to the likes of AC-DC and Van Halen.

You do however got to give credit were credit is due Malcolm, the band performances would not have happened with out Lorie “Sky” Strittmatter,(with some help by her good friend Jon Epstein) she is the one that made most all of the band contacts, schedule of performances and was with out a doubt, the backbone of the musical part of this event.

And for the first time, Fireworks over Springfield Lake on Saturday night, what a sight, the pyrotechnics were awesome, the colors reflecting off the surface of the lake, all anyone can say is “WOW”. The Car show, carnival rides, food venders, games, there was something for everyone!

The only bad thing I can say about the entire weekend is the unscheduled late performance Saturday night on the south shore, by none other than those made their notoriety with their illegal acts on our public roadways, the Star Boyz. Their total disregard for people’s safety and disrespect of the people that were gathered in the stage area listing to Tepleton’s Zeal. They performed there unscheduled 9:00pm act in the roadway just next to the stage area, not in the designated area they were to perform on Sunday, filling the stage and seating area with tire smoke from their burnouts, causing 1 person to have an asthma attack, sending them to the hospital. Kudos’ to the Safety Forces for putting a stop to it before some was seriously injured or even killed.

All said and done, with a few changes, this event can be one that people plan their summer vacations around!!
