How did this turn into a personal bash fest of current and previous DeKalb County Sheriff Department Jailers and Dispatchers? This forum is about the accident, a witness who feels the deputys didn't search well enough, and the family who last 1 family member but was lucky enough to have 1 survive......Personally I think it's a bittersweet accident.

I would not have said a word on this until someone decided to slander my name all over the place. Nothing will happen to them anyway, they are all family. It was a waste of time really..
I am so sorry for the family that is affected by their negligence.... I hope they seek legal advise!

To Moto and anyone else involved:
Every one has there right to freedom of speech. If you don't like what I and others post on MySpace then don't read it. That’s too easy for you to do for most mature people. Looking past what is posted that offends you is too hard for you to ignore and look past. Instead you have to be immature and slander me on this web site. Knock off the school yard games. Grow up and act your age. You are a member of public service that the public looks up to and respects. As a member of public service you are to be a role model and set a good example inside and outside of work. Slandering someone and playing school yard games on the internet all day/night inside and outside of work is not an example to set. If your going to slander and talk about someone act your age and sign your name, or even talk to them in person like a grown up. Don't be childish and hide behind a nickname. I agree with J. Mulkey when did this whole event/news story evolve into a personal bash? I have RESIGNED from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Dept since August 1, 2007. I have nothing to do with this event. Instead you have to be immature and start all of this drama because Doug Stiverson, a few others (I will not name to protect them from being slandered like Doug and I are), and I post one thing on MySpace expressing ourselves. Being as immature as you are you had to slander Doug Stiverson and I on this site and who knows where else. I am sorry for the family that has to deal with this tragedy of this accident. Now they have to deal with the death of a loved one. Everyone should be giving there sympathy to the family involved instead of slandering, and bashing one and another on here.

I was not in the room with the dispatchers and I only listened to a few of the calls because questions were not being asked and the proper things were not being done...example: dispatching it as a PD and not an unknown! Also, most people calling 911 are not thinking clearly and most people do not understand north, south, east or west, especially in an emergency situation!

I too, know these officer's personally. They are a couple of the BEST officer's Dekalb County has.
These officers are far from lazy, and are out there working overtime to help people for any reason at all. They have families of their own, yet they put their life on the line daily, and help keep our county safe. Now honestly, did these officer's just not do their job? They rely on PROPER information from disatch, which was in no way given to them correctly. Yet, you people seem to think it was laziness? That they were to cold? Gimme a break!
Police Officers risk their lives, work hard for little pay, and have to deal with the stress of everyone elses problems that occur. They choose to do this because they want to help people. It's not an easy job AT ALL!
You think it's easy to see abused children, or children growing up in environments with drug use, or getting involved in the family fight??? Or in this case, knowing a man died on your watch because of someone else's mistake? Wrong directions, not enough information, dispatched incorrectly etc.
How about insted of criticizing, and making these officer's feel worse, you say a prayer for them and the family of this man. It's not easy for anyone involved.
And to these officers if your reading - Thank You for all you do! You guys do an amazing job!
