The chattering sea monkeys in our General Assembly have passed a new cyberbullying law against students to protect the tender sensibilities of their teachers. That's right. If a student goes online and says something that steps on the delicate tender pink toes of a teacher, the student can go to prison for it.
Pile up those witchhunting laws down there in Raleigh, boys. You got Chapter 50, and cyberstalking, and now this scarecrow of a statute to claim for your infamy. This is getting wild. McCarthyism, Salem Massachusetts, and the Spanish Inquisition redux, huh, boys and girls?
And all the teacher needs to say is that she was "tormented" or "intimidated." Shades of the Marty Grist Puta of Perjury!
I can't wait for this foolish law to get litigated in the appellate courts, but then I'm starting to wonder if those judges are not corrupt too.
Grab up Google and go take a look at the "Junius Puke" case in Colorado. Tom Mink, the defendant in that case, published a parody online about his teacher, and you would have thought he had committed the capital crime of blasphemy. LEOs busted in on him like gangbangers and carried off all his computers. In the end, however, rational minds prevailed and the appellate courts exonerated him, and even paid him some money.
The Constitution is not self-preserving. We have only the procedures of the Common Law to protect us, and they are dwindling. When the legislative Friends of the Gestapo are cranking out despotic laws, the Bill of Rights does not affirmatively react to protect its beneficiaries, us. Therefore, we must sue, sue, sue.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, ACLU, before they figure out a way to snatch away your standing to sue. And hopefully a judge won't be defeated in the election, causing such disruption and turbulence and disarray in the Court of Appeals that the other 19 judges are tormented to distraction and all the pending cases are removed from the calendar.
And let us all anticipate that what I have just written by this time next year will be a felony, wicked and seditious. And the ex post facto guarantees will have also been abrogated. And they'll issue bills of attainder and declare us outlaws. Woe be unto us! They are closing in! Time to load the old blunderbuss and shutter the windows!
Are there any goddamn lawyers in the General Assembly with cojones any more?
