Thanks for that. I hear 30 months. I heard it doesn't matter. I hear only when they canvass. I would like to transfer to orange county or somewhere in Riverside or even southeast LA.i guess I'll just pay my dues and wait. Thanks
They just had mini transfers in la a few months back. 40 openings... 200 techs applied for it. Seniority rules brother. 9 months in? Sit tight it's gona be awhile. I'm in the same boat too by the way.

I tried to applied for "resource recovery specialist" or garbage sorter. It was through a subcontractor that worked for AT&T. At the interview, subcontractor said AT&T does extensive background checks and will not hire anyone with a felony but he was a real cool guy and decided to go through with it and maybe they would overlook it since it was 12 years old sales charge.Days later the guy called back and said the background failed and he was not able to hire me. So I wonder if these success stories are real. I'm a military veteran using my GI Bill to work towards an engineering degree, with a 12 year old felony, that can't even get a job sorting garbage for an AT&T subcontractor.

I am worried about my background check. What things do they disqualify you for ? I have no record or anything, but I have worked a couple of jobs where I quit without putting in a two week notice. I have also had some speeding tickets, though any from the last 3 years are off my official driving record. Should I be worried ??????

Nothing. They do routine time samples to find out how long jobs actually take in the field.

Do not have exact pay tiers for SW...
however at the end of 2009-2012 contract the Midwest and Sourhwest max pay was basically the same (within ten cent per hour).

The SW received an additional .60 per hour to place bridge cancel device and 4 year contract with different % increases each year compared to MW 3 year with % raises.

Currently top pay in 2014 for MW is $21.66 while top in SW is listed at $22.18 a difference of .52 or 20.80 per week.

with that knowledge here is min starting and 3 year progression producing top starting wage.

490.00... 518.50... 549.00... 581.50... 615.50... 651.50... 689.50

for SW add roughly $20 to reach level... not exact... but close.

all the info I provide is available on line... just search for district... titles... pay scales. Posting are from union web sites.

If desire exact info contact the local cwa union and ask for copy of rule book.

Offered position as wire tech/field ops. Originally position applied for was between $9.xx to $17.xx per hour. Position offered starts at $17.63... Why at top of range? I'm confused. Not complaining. Just wondering. Does TMFT-II test result push you into different job/pay scale?
I'm in south Florida....
I just took the TMFT-ii test today and qualified. Now the waiting starts for me lol

Yes. I start next monday. I work out 3-4 times a week so yea i would like to think im in pretty good shape.

any pointers on pole climbing or training in general ?

one thing i am nervous about is making it on time to training everyday. I am not from the dallas area and i hear the traffic is horrible.

I'm a newer prem tech about one month after training now. I seem to be having issues with efficiency and getting my numbers up. Seems very tough to meet efficiency. Also been having a poor experience some late nights. Is a poor first couple of months to be expected? Anybody want to share their starting days? Eff is like 70% as of today
