Someone saw a person with a gun..........there is a chance that person prevented a crime byalling 911..........or there is a chance that the 911 on speed dial cost this teen his life. I would hate for the latter to be true. I am waiting for the video from the police cams. They will for sure show up, right?
Just for the record. carrying a gun isn't a crime. Was a crime called in recently that morning? If not, with all the info so far, this stinks.

1st off it is a crime to have a gun on person if you do not have a conceled hand gun licence and you cant get 1 unless you are 21 so in that case yes he was in the wrong and yes i do belive the cops had the complete right to protect them selfs

freebird...the 2nd Ammendment DOES NOT give you the right to wear your gun on the outside of your clothes. It affords the person the right to possess a firearm. Let me know how wearing one on the outside of your clothing works out for you. If you want to carry a gun on your person, legally, you need a CHL.

Amazing posts here.

2doorsdown - you said it yourself, "all the info so far". Let the Texas Rangers complete their investigation and release the facts before all the conjecture crap.

JCP - based on what has been released on this shooting you are 100% correct.

freebird - bobo is right on the money. Try wearing it in plain sight and see how things work out for you. I can supply you names of some defense attorneys, or, if you touch it or even appear to attempt to unholster when approached by an officer, a good funeral home.

wylie dude - not a clue. The Castle Law deals ONLY with removing the previous lawful obligation to retreat while in defense of person or property in a habitation, vehicle, or place of business, along with a legal defense if sued civilly. A CHL is still required to carry on your person when in a public place.

sps officer - If you really are an officer, which I doubt, I'll put my money on you're being a rent-a-cop. The Castle Law and CHL requirements are about as far apart as A and Z. If you think otherwise, strap it on either concealed or not and if caught outside of the above 3 legal non-CHL locations, refer to my defense attorney offer above.

bobo - refer to first sentence to freebird.

You are all extending this further than necessary. There is no law/license that allows someone to aim a gun at cops and not respond when the cops give instructions.

Find out if that actually happened, and the rest dies not matter.

The Light, so since the investigation is completed would you please post the link for the entire discloser of their findings, including the play by play that led up to the dire situation that required deadly force to save the life of every Sachse citizen.
thanks in advance,

I can only gather that "save the life of every Sachse citizen" is misplaced sarcasm. The "dire" situation was a young man holding a loaded handgun by his side emerging from cover. After ignoring repeated orders from 2 Sachse officers to drop the gun, he raised it toward the officers and was shot. One can only assume that 2doors believes that the officers should have waited for him to squeeze off a few rounds in their direction, maybe even hitting someone in their car going by on 78, before defending themselves. Deadly force was required and used. Period.

As I said before, the young man is doing great, and both officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing, which is exactly what should have happened. End of story.

OK. For all of you bad a--es that brag or whine about being able to carry a gun illegally. What's the point of carrying a gun? Are you willing to take anothers life? You don't carry a gun to scare someone. If you are willing to shoot someone because they pist you off, you need help. Yeah, sometimes a gun is what it takes to even the odds, but that's only because there are more cowards in this world than men. Talk is cheap, if you are willing to shoot another man, they need you in the army.

I can tell you that the police say they do not have video of this shooting. Audio mics along with other evidence proves that this young man was never given a warning and never pointed a gun at anyone but himself. A troubled youth that made a mistake and paid for it severely thanks to the ineptitude of the Sachse police dept.
