Petition to make gender-neutral Easy-Bake Ovens
Mckenna Pope of Garfield, NJ has started a petition -- with just over 23,000 signatures at time of writing -- to Hasbro, asking them to produce a gender-neutral version of the Easy-Bake Oven, so that her cooking-crazed little brother won't feel excluded from his passions: My little brother has always loved cooking.

I am and have been a gold seal chef for 27 years and after watching and hearing this I am upset with the mother, he views should remain her views and not pushed onto a child. I noticed the mothers surname and daughters surname are different, women's power? I never cared what colour my stove , fridge was or what colour my sous chef, pastry chef, dishwasher was or is. Growing up I was ridiculed for wanting to be a chef, not for the colour of my easy bake oven. Since when is purple a girls colour, I own purple shirts and have been married 34 years with 4 children, boys and girls. We have taught them that o colour belongs to any one sex, isnt that a better lesson than causing discrimination by teaching them that yellow, purple, pink are female colours. I watched the video, when you ask a child any question and place RIGHT at the end causes the child the answer in agreement because your drawing an agreement conclusion. As parents we all know this as we have used it to get or have them do certain things and make it sound fun, right????....The 4 year old does not care what colour the oven is he had a problem useing it, but check the age for the oven it does not say 4,the box and website say 6-8 and 9-12 so where is the mother. The other thing is it says to help kids make all sorts of things, not girls, or females. The girl askes why men must work and women n the kitchen, where was her father? I know a lot of male chefs, more males then females, maybe she shouldmcheck that out instead of learning and memorizing $5 words from mommy. Yes mommy you look like an activist, and an over opinionated person. She has grown to love Hasbro, should have asked what other toys they make, and do they make more boy toys than girls? Yes they do per year, and sell more boy than girl toys. Mom let the kids be kids and stop forcing your opinion or pushing her to be on TV, or yourself. You are teaching yor kids discrimination, discrimination by colour. This is possible, Hasbro makes a Red oven, they do not sell and now the company to recoop the loss raises the price of other toys, now some girl or boy who does not care the colour can ot have one because of the cost. Remember there is no good discrimination, and mom let the kids be kids.....and let dad stay at home while mom goes to work. She looks like she is to high maintence for him not to work. As for the news who, picked this up, poor reporting on your part, you should have done some reaserch and listen to the children for more than the plug your trying to get and realized she was coached by mom and the boy coached by big sister.
