Congrats to former Mayor Tom and Eileen Longo who are leaving Garfield Heights in less than 2 weeks. They bought their retirement house in Arizona near their daughter Mary Grace and their son John. We will miss both of you as you start your golden years out west. Arizona's gain is Garfield Heights's loss. Make sure to keep in touch with all of your loving friends here, Tom & Eileen.

Isn't this the clown responsible for the City View disaster?

Yes he was. He snuck behind city Councils back to push some stuff through. Garfield is a mess now.

So he took his pay off money and gets to live it up in Arizona while City View and that never completed road just are a big mess.

You can honestly see how easy it would be to go over to the dark side and become one of these bad politicians. People are so foolish it is no wonder politicians take advantage of them.

The thing is those of us that are aware and keep up on these things end up suffering because of the ignorance of the masses.

Now that's something you and I can definitely agree on. I suggested to my Councilman that Council meetings should be available over the internet. Hell, it doesn't cost anything and would help keep citizens like us informed. Not many want to dress up, go to the library, and sit through a Council meeting. Sitting at home and possibly recording the meetings would keep everybody in touch. Heck, they can even record the meetings themselves and put them up on their internet site so you can view it anytime.

Even though anybody can attend meetings in person, I think the city wants to keep people in the dark about what's going on.

You're right. How hard would it be to stream a meeting? I bet if a citizen tried to come in there and broadcast it they would tell them to stop.

The council meetings ARE on cable local access. I watch them all the time.

Longo should be investigated just like the other guys they've busted-he pushed pushed pushed and now it's a disaster-why does he get to retire happily and leave the city in the dump?

I think both our Mayor's should. There is something fishy when a city faces multiple problems and all they can think about is more construction.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Scorpio

It's a frustrating and rather disappointing day because you have to cope with delays and setbacks to your plans. A travel arrangement may have to be postponed or there could be a hitch about something connected with education. You're also feeling subdued and tired, and you're longing to spend some time on your own although this may not be possible. Don't worry, this difficult mood will soon blow over.
