the car sucks. So far I have found the car in 3 different spots on Turney road. Why can't they mix it up a little. they keep the car close to the station. If they are worried about it being stolen or worse the cameras should work right? Anyway its complete entrapment!

I am soo glad someone is trying to do something about it. Just recently they have a car on the corner of 131 and forestdale, where the old Garfield Hts. service center used to be.It is just sitting there with nobody in it for hours, and then at night the officers are there. Do not get me wrong, the speed limit is the speed limit and of coarse has to be enforced: but at the same time you have to be realistic too. The speed limit on most main streets near me goes to 35 to 25 to 35 to 25 and it does it so quick if you are not from around here you could easily recieve a citation which would be unfair. Since I recieved a 45 dollar bill for trash pickup why wont they incorporate that extra money and at least pick it up from the house like Shaker does.A vast majority of the homeowners in the area are senior citizens,DUH.W hoever are making these decisions (COMON GET A GRIP) AND THINK THE BIGGER PICTURE FOR THE GOOD OF OUR TAXPAYERS IN GARFIELD HEIGHTS, OHIO.

This is great. About time the citizens took action and stood up for themselves. Garfield will no doubt be forced to take them down but by that time will have cleared over $1,000,000 in revenue.

When the citizens vote the cameras out, and they will, the city still made over like a fat rat. Let's see how they waste this money. LOL

Mayor Collova and some of the City Council members are past Longo cronies. This is NOT about safety, just revenue.
Revenue, that is, for some of the city employees to keep their city funded modes of transportation, amonst other things.
Send a message to Council Members, if you deny the people's right to vote on issues, you get voted out.
Longo made decisons without the voters or the City Council and that didn't help The City of Garfield Heights one bit either!

We were "told" no tickets to be issued unless you drive 10 mph over the posted speed limit.

If the speed limit on Turney Road was consistent with state laws and the limits were posted conspicuously for safety reasons, not entrapment, then I would have no problem with issuing tickets.

Will the citizens get a full disclosure of the monies earned and how they are spent? I doubt it!

Patching the streets and putting through a road from CitiView to Rockside are the best campaign promises we could get?

I suppose the money from the traffic cameras will be used to buy up all of the vacaant houses in Garfield Heights? Then what?

Who is monitoring these cameras? Do Garfield Heights residents and employees get a warning for the first infraction, or was that another b.s. rumor?

Give me a break, Garfield has something like 5 landfills and you guys pay for garbage removal?

How about buying a truck with the red light money and putting to work some of those useless employees who are over-paid?

Only sheep want to extend government powers for revenue generation. If speeding is so bad and it isn't revenue based, just give points on the license for all those caught on camera.

They receive a letter in the mail stating they now have a certain amount of points on their license. Wait.......you can't do that because you can't prove they were operating the vehicle.

Total government scam. There are surely 20 percent of the voters that are sheep that will side with these revenue generators, but the majority will vote it down.

If this is an issue pertaining to safety where is the data showing the increase in accidents, injuries and fatalities?
Does Garfield have a Safety Director? Or did the current Mayor keep the same hidden hand policies as the previous Mayor?(Oh yeah, he moved to Independence).
44125 was such a nice place to live, too bad. It seems everyone is out to make a buck on everyone with hard luck.

Another ""hidden handed" mayor. The last one screwed up the city finances and blamed everyone and everything else, then he moved to Independence. Nice!!!
Post the speed limits where everyone can see them and quit with the candy-$$ games already!
ONLY YOU CAN STOP BAD GOVERNMENT, ONLY YOU!

Here's a novel idea....don't break traffic laws and you won't get a ticket. Damn, people....It's not rocket science. My favorite excuse is, "I'm not from around here." Well, don't they have speed limits and stop signs where you are from? Does anyone remember driver's education classes? Stop complaining and obey the laws. I don't speed. I wear my seat belt. I stop at stop signs and red lights. I have never had a ticket since I started driving in 1987. Maybe I'm the minority here...If I do any of the above and get caught, it's MY fault. Not the government's fault. Get real....

Well great...."I have no answers Wagner" has succeeded.....I wonder what he will tell the residents when the income from law breakers is not there and the City goes farther in debt and oh yeah receivorship. I love how "my rights are infringed upon." YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEED. You do have the right to not travel into Garfield. You do have the right to move out of Garfield....if you think your house value is low now...wait for a little while and see how low really is.....Current cronies of Longo...NOT A CHANCE....those people of Longo that were on the payroll doing NOTHING are GONE. Ask Wagner WHY when he was a cronie of LONGO he did not vote against the cameras. He thought they were a good idea then...now he collects signatures to put it on the ballot? Why didn't he do that when he was Council President? Hmmmm...talking out of both sides of his mouth still? You people who are worried about getting sdpeeding tickets....I'll bet there are real good chances you will get speeding tickets elsewhere....and there will be no reprieve for "10 miles over the limit." Have fun paying those other cities.

This seems to be the wave of the future, communities wringing money out of the working man. Permit and licensing fees being increased year after year, feeding the insatiable appetite of the civil 'servants' and their respective unions.

Bravo....taking responsibility...I applaud your response. Everyone seems to be forgetting that breaking the law is breaking the law...no excuses. If they don't want a ticket...DON'T SPEED....as you said, no rocket science involved here, however common sense should be involved....everyone today seems to have an excuse for a wrong they have done or looks at someone else to blame. Speeding is not a right of anyone who drives and when a municipality comes up with using cameras and freeing up the police for other duties perhaps making the city a bit safer...something wrong with that?

THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION IS SOOO FOOLISH. I LIVE IN THE CITY & WILL DRIVE A FEW STREETS OVER TO DO MY SHOPPING IN BEDFORED OR MAPLE HTS BEFORE I WILL GO DOWNTOWN IN GARFIELD. I URGE OTHERS TO DO THE SAME THEN ONCE THE BUSISNESS COMMUNITY FEELS SOME PRESSURE MAYBE THE MAYOR WILL REALIZE WHAT A JOKE THIS IS. WE PAY THE HIGHEST PROPERTY TAXES PER/$1000 OF VALUATION ON OUR HOMES HERE & WE HAVE TO PAY FOR GARBAGE PICK UP TOO? THE ONLY WAY TO DESCRIBE IT IS A FARCE

I believe if you are speeding and running red lights you are endangering the public. The people who want the cameras taken away must feel they are above the law. You only have to obey the law when a police officer is watching?! Is that the point. just slow down and stop.

Are you aware of the percentage of the fine that the copany which operates the cameras receives. Try 70%. If a $100.00 dollar fine is accessed, the city receives $30.00 and the camera operating company receives $70.00. Somewhat unfair i think.
