At first glance, the white SUV you may see throughout Garfield Heights, looks just like any other car parked along the side of the road. Full Story

Lynnette...you don't need to frequent any businesses there...they are all gone already from all the riff raff...also here's an idea...DON'T SPEED and you won't get a ticket....you crybabies are amazing...I'm speeding and I'm breaking the law and I AM CRYING ABOUT IT! Unbelievable

No. Nobody is crying about breaking the law. People are crying about Big Brother invading their city. I think what you should do is read the book "1984" and see just how close we are to that world. And Right Turn, I really hope somebody borrows your car, and you get one of these tickets in the mail. Perhaps then you will understand how immoral it is to "assume" you broke the law, and still have to pay for it.

YES YOU ARE ALL CRYING ABOUT BREAKING THE LAW AND THEN HAVING TO SUFFER THE CONCSEQUENCES....10 over the speed limit....What is IMMORAL is that you people believe you can break the law and then find something or someone to blame. Get to reality...it is about money and safety....and that is it. Big Brother...give me a break...is your subscription to NRA due?

Only fools like yourself believe this has anything to do with safety. In fact, other cities that have had these cameras have experienced many problems including increases in "rear-end" collisions. People see a yellow light, and they hit the breaks in fear of being shot by one of these cameras. The person behind has little time to react.
Red light and speed cameras reflect the inability of the community to elect representatives that can stay within a budget. These clowns get into office-spend every last tax dime, and then proceed to borrow money which has to be paid back. With no other option in site, they resort to finding ways to screw the taxpaying citizens and visitors alike.
The immorality issue is that this used to be a country where you were innocent until proven guilty. Today, you are guilty until proven innocent. So just try going to court with the claim you were not behind the wheel of your vehicle when this camera snapped your license plate, and see what happens.
'Why do you think it is that these laws were created without the consent of the public? Because the public doesn't want this. That's why this issue will make it's way to the November elections where it will be voted down. You are in the minority with your opinion. Just wait and see!

Fool? Who's the fool "fear of being shot by one of these cameras."
How about being a law abiding citizen and not speeding and therefore NOT having to slam on your brakes. Duh...on no accoring to you that means taking the power away from the people. Seriously WHAT PLANET ARE YOU FROM? You posted elsewhere about building inspectors being too hard on lazy people not cutting lawns...what else are you being harrassed with? Do your duty as a law abiding citizen instead of always blaming someone else because YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE LAW. I said it was about money you moron AND SAFETY. You live in Maple Hts....so keep your NRA opinions to those issue in that City...we don't need Wagner clones floating around...yeah the ones who bark, stire up the pot, are ill informed and have no other solutions. Please give this post a break.

For your information you dope, this post is under the category MAPLE HEIGHTS FORUM, so bringing up Maple Heights might be appropriate.

You don't have to be speeding to hit your brakes. Obviously, you lack comprehension skills. What I wrote was that rear end accidents are more likely in cities with red light cameras because the person (not speeding) behind a car of a person slamming on their brakes during yellow lights is much higher.

Since you like government watching your every move, perhaps utopia for you would be Cuba, or North Korea, where government watches their citizens every move.

In a free country, we don't have cameras on citizens; or are not supposed to anyway. And you mean to tell me you never break the law??? You never went 27 mph in a 25 mph zone? Your kids are off the sidewalk just before curfew? You never cross the street until the sign tells you? You don't have one inch of peeled paint on your house or garage?

Give me a break.

Yes MORON I do follow the laws....no I am not perfect but I understand that like them or not laws are made and are to be followed. I do make my children follow curfew...I can get off my lazy behind and cut grass and not look for blame at someone else for citing me because I didn't. You're the reason neighborhoods go downhill...your mayor is trying to make things better but with people like you fighting the system all the time, his job is just made more difficult. I can follow the speed limit and if I don't then I will take the ticket. I won't CRY that I did wrong and I was wrongly punished. Vietnam? NRA? What is it? Do you have a cell phone? They know you every call and from where...you have a computer? They know every site you visit. Help me people...I break laws and then I look for every excuse to blame someone else.....The government is after me...I can't do anything....Again what planet? Don't bother answering as some else called you "mental midget." It is a shame that people like you can vote. I cannot banter with someone who doesn't have a clue.

No, the reason our neighborhood is going downhill is because of government and their idiotic policies such as putting HUD people in a middle-class suburb. And yes, our Mayor is doing such a good job with his stupid building inspectors. If your grass is over six inches high, they will get you. But our mailman can't even deliver mail without the chance of getting gunned down in the street. That's how good of a job our big government Mayor is doing.

It's a good thing we are spending money on building inspectors. We wouldn't want the criminals to feel uncomfortable breaking into a home where there are cracks in the driveway now would we? Oh! And what about our nice new multi-million dollar schools and 1.3 million dollar public swimming pool? Gives the criminals a good place to cool off after the hit you over the head with a bat and take your wallet. In the meantime, Maple Heights does not have one police dog, and our police department is half the size of Lakewood's.

Yeah. Real great job our Mayor is doing. And yours did a pretty good number on you. That's why they need red light cameras now.

Garfield Heights police & clerk of courts have to be one of the nastiests entities around. Went to pay a ticket which was a ridicules fine. Observing some of the people & the issues that were given fines I am surprised that anyone @ all will venture near or live in that hole. This place needs to be taken over by the state & investigated. The clerk of court & judges are like the drug cartels, & the police are the thugs who enforce gathering the money. Garfield HTS PD are not there to protect & serve they are there to extort & divert as much money from fines as they can into the courts. I advise anyone if possible never go to Garfield Hts Lindale Independence, Brecksville or East Cleveland. You are risking your bank account being sucked dry by these gestapos.

And that's the way we like it. Keep undesirables out of here. Stay in Cleveland.
