Terminate his employment, but furthermore, do not refill the position. Obviously, there wasn't enough legitimate work to keep him busy, so he had time to do scam the government.

Not good. However, one must consider there are 60,000 state workers. Rarely do we here anything negative. The state workers I come in contact with daily are excellent, very dedicated and hard working.

For the life of me, I do not understand why these state workers do unlawful acts and then are given a PAID vacation.

You have the union to thank for the paid leave as I'm sure they negotiated this kind of deal to "protect" workers as they go through the investigative process. It's baloney. If this was a priivate business, this guy would have been kicked to the curb at the first whiff of impropriety as it should be.

Well maybe you have but the ones I've come in contact with from OHIO DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION AND CORRECTION are just the opposite, rude, very forgetful, do not know the rules and regulations of their department and don't really give a s**t. They also have failed to take responsibility for their actions as employees of the state of ohio. The employees doing wrong need to be dealt with, there are a lot of decent people looking for jobs!

"When interviewed, Gooch said he thinks the federal government has financial accounts for all citizens that can be tapped for personal debts, the report said."

I think Mr. Gooch has a mental illness.

Fire his arse. We don't need idiots like this ruining the honest, hard working efforts that most state workers do. Let's dump the criminals and free loaders.

I do hope he stays on the state payroll ... as an inmate in one of our fine prisons, making 45 cents a day sweeping floors.

An example of government having so much entitlement money it can't keep track of it properly, thus you have employees feeding like pigs at the endless tax payer funded buffet. Oink!
