Anyone hear anything on a shooting at Mapletown around the 28th or 29th of Sept? Late the one night, I heard one shot, then about 6 more shots in rapid fire. A friend told me there was something about a shooting at Mapletown that she read on Facebook. Probably most likely more 'jagoots' trying to kill each other for some stupid reason.

Information I have gotten is some young people were hanging out causing problems, which ended up looking like the wild west as shots were exchanged across Broadway from the bar, to targets in mapletown's parking lot, who naturally returned the gesture and returned fire.

3 people were shot in the exchanges.

Those crazy black people just have no brains. All they know is shoot guns, kill, rob, and crime. I hope when the police go after any of them that got away that they aim their guns at the cops so the cops can shoot and kill them so we're rid of more of the lousy 'jamokes' that have donkey poop for brains.

And a little side bar here.....that ugly little 17 year old brat that shot and killed the baby in a stroller back in April just got sentenced to life in prison with an added 105 years tacked on to that. He also shot a pastor in the arm in a failed robbery attempt 10 days before he murdered the little tot. The law should go after his mother and have her sterilized so she can't poop out any more little slugs.

There are no "black" bars on the westside of Maple. The bar in the plaza on Dunham is problem free, so is the bar on Rockside just inside Garfield.

I told people the "black" bars need to be kept under watch. Have a police car hang around them. Once the bars become "hot", Cleveland trash won't come to Maple to party. Leaning on bars probably would happen if cops were city residents.

I've noticed quite a few shootings are associated with black bars. It started with Rocky's on Libby rd.

Even if the cops could hang around every single bar on the east side of Maple Heights, it would only be a matter of minutes before they would have to leave to attend to a call. We just don't have that kind of manpower.

Just having a police presence is enough to make spots "hot" and keep trash away. I don't know how many bars are out there now. I know in the past the violence was getting some of them closed.

I remember seeing cops sitting in the bank parking lot during bar hours. They love that spot along with several other spots. Why not sit in one of the bar parking lots between calls? I've seen other areas do it. It makes a difference.

Ever been to "Mr. Gee's"? It changes from day time patrons to entirely different night time patrons. Same with the work week crowd and the weekend crowd.

Not much of a bar person myself. As a truck driver, police can haul me in for a DUI using CDL standards (which is about two beers) even though I'm driving my car. Unlike most people, if I get a DUI, I not only lose my job, but would not be able to find a new one for several years.

The last bar I was in was Maple Grove and that was a couple years ago when I was on their dart team. My friends got me to join and often drove me there and back.

However if I did drive to a bar and always took note of police watching the place, I would drink somewhere else or at home. For the most part, people go to the bar for one reason. Who needs the problems?
