The Gettysburg area sure has a lot of crime.
Locals turning a blind eye to it has alot to do with it.
After the failure of securing a gaming licence in the area, things went down hill in the area.

These locals are disgusting. Yes, they are mad that he casino got snatched from their grasp by bigger and better towns. But does that mean that they should turn a blind eye to children being raped and molested?

I guess in their sick minds it does mean that. No wonder Gettysburg is floundering, no jobs, no new businesses, no hope, and a wave of violent crime and sexual predation of children.

As I have stated mnay times in the past now that a casino isn't coming to towhn what are the locals going to do? They weren't guranteed a casino to begin with and with the GREAT opposition to it, its no wonder it was localted elsewhere.

Congrats to those who worked so hard in making a casino NOT come to Gettysburg happen!

Now with that problem solved I'd like to see locals take an active roll in their town. Getting involved is only way things will change, and for the better!

But, its sad to think that locals only think of themselves and not to the tourists and their children who come to visit every year. Safety should be their number one priority and themselves should come last.

My friend was the person who stabbed the guy.
Not gang related at all.
Not drug related either.
Was part of a domestic violence situation and the victim had actually forced his way into home, where he was then stabbed in self defense.

Just goes to show how much Gettysburg has changed in the last ten years or so.

It never used to be this violent. When I went to school here you could go into town and not worry about being robbed or assaulted. Now it is obviously a different story. The campus is still safe for the most part. They do a good job with security and the criminal element stays in town and in places like Biglerville.

I also have family in law enforment (Gettysburg Borough) to be exact.
There is ALOT that goes on that is hidden from public!
I wouldnt walk the streets of Gburg at night!
Might be a smaller town but still almost as bad as York or Harrisburg!
(My Opinion)

It is worse than York or Harrisburg. As a matter of fact, for its size, Gettysburg is one of the most dangerous towns in the nation.

I bet the gang man who killed the home invader struck more than a few nerves when he cut into the gang member's body over and over. A gang member died in this brazen killing, in case you try to deny it.
It's getting worse in Gettysburg, I'm glad I left when I could still get decent money for the house. I saw the signs early, yet you want to still deny that it's getting awful crime wise in Gettysburg... I bet I would have gotten 25% less if I'd have waited until the recent crime wave to sell the place.
My real estate guy was about to invest in a project there, I laughed out loud at him in the middle of the meeting and told him what has been going on in Gettysburg recently. I was shocked to see how cheap the prices are, I guess it's all about supply and demand, and nobody demands to be near Gettysburg.

Stop lying. You know as well as I do that Biglerville, Aspers, Gardners, and York Springs are all overrun by Mexican gangbangers. These Mexicans basically own that part of Adams County right up to the Cumberland County line.
