Both the MIAA and Gardner school officials succumbed to the bullying tactics of the Cornetta family, just so that they would stop being a constant flea that would not go away. Unfortunately, it has caused harm to a man's reputation, and has hurt the children that just wanted to have fun swimming in high school. I know for a fact that Katie Cornetta and her mother, did not have the right intentions of swimming her final senior year with Gardner. The mother-daughter duo had a premeditated plan to castrate Mr. Lemieux, and to destroy the swim team and any swimmer that was both high school and a member of the Greenwood Memorial Swim Club. She was nursing a concussion that she received at her USA club, and was showing up at 5:30 am for practice, because she wanted to, "support her teammates." She only came to practice to take written and visual inventory of the swimmers, and to observe their interactions with their coach and amongst themselves. Sitting on the bench at meets, she would document in her handy dandy notebook what she thought was going on. All her teammates felt threatened, intimidated, bullied and betrayed by her. She, her mother, and grandparents made it quite obvious what they were doing, and did not care if they were harming children. Katie and her mother filed their practice complaints to the school, MIAA and did not get the response they wanted, so they went further to harm the kids on the team. Karen Cornetta, sent a mass email to all the coaches (private email addressed) and demanded they file individual complaints, and attached her daughter's affidavit and practice attendance sheet with every child's name on it. This is unacceptable and is violating and exploiting minors. This family is just plain mentally insane! Under MASS law, this falls under harrassment and also cyber-harrassment. The parents on the team, have been outraged with the school authority, and have written numerous letters, to no avail. These parents even went to the Gardner Police for help, all to no avail. Unlike the Cornettas, they should have gone to District Court and got an harrassment order against Katie, her mother, and grandparents. These high school parents are not vindictive people, like the Cornettas, but only wanted their children to be safe from a predator. If they did get a harrassment order, how would that have affected Katie's future? College? I think the other high school parents and swimmers were gracious to the Cornetta's, maybe too much.
