Of course the 2 million is a write off. Anytime you donate to charity you get to write it off your taxes. They chose to donate locally. Who cares if they can write it off...it is there legal right to do that...just like if they give to the American Heart fund or the Cancer Society or the Art Museum.if sterilite can donate 2 mil that must be profit i wonder if that money is made by having so many temp employees and do they save money by not supplying health ins and benefits to these employees. also will taxpayers have to pick up their tab when obama care is pushed thru are any of these temps illegal immigrants? just wondering. one more note will the 2 mil be a tax write off? not to be a cynic just honest questions.
Not all their employees are tempts. Some are though. Some temps are offered health insurance through their employer...which is the temp agency. I don't think where ever the temps are placed for a worksite should make much difference when the health insurance issue comes around because right now EVERYONE in Massachusetts is supposed to be buying their health insurance from someone already or be on Mass Health or Medicare.
I am very willing to bet that there are no illegal imigrants working for Sterilite. When you get a job with a temp agency they have to prove that you are legally able to work. The only place illegals can fine work now a days are for small Mom and Pop places that pay cash under the table...like house keepers or babysitters or roofers. It is a very stupid thing for a multi-million dollar company to even try to cheat the government by hiring a few illegal imigrants to save about 100 dollars a week so I really don't think Sterilite would be interested in that and shouldn't be accused of such. They donated to two local schools and local students will benefit. Try not to rain on the parade.
