Are you serious Pat?! Have you blinders on when you drive elsewhere in the city, or do you not go out beyond the 'brick mill' neighborhood? Potholes are everywhere, and I dare say worse in some areas than 5th Mass Turnpike.(try driving the stretch of Rindge Road heading into Ashburnham) The lack of street lights, roads in disrepair, our local bridges and dams, all are reflections of the current financial state the city finds itself in. This is not a targeted malaise, but a city wide one, stop feeling persecuted! Teachers, policemen, fire stations all are more important than your ball joints right now. Besides, just wait a couple weeks, those holes will be filled with snow and ice, that the city will not be able to sand properly. Be thankful, the ride will be less bumpy, if a tad bit more slippery.

It really is sad that your priority is a lesser used road. Sure it gets some volume, however there are a lot busier roads that are in complete disrepair. The city is a mess, but so is more than half this state and the roads are the first to go. I can't think of one city or town around here that isn't long over due for road repair/replacement. If its really that big of an issue for you then drive slower like the smart drivers do.

And Deval Patrick wants to spend $9 million to build a foot bridge for Gillette Stadium and the Patriots. And spend more money for a "business park" to benefit the Kraft family.

Don't like the road move!
|
||||
And the Kraft's funded the new stadium and surrounding entertainment complex themselves, yet the state reaps the benefit of the taxes. A footbridge to take pedestrians off of the public roadway sounds like a good idea. |

Fifth Mass Turnpike, albeit, a well travelled road, is NOT a busy road by any definition of the word. Try taking a look at South Street, Main Street, John Fitch Hwy, Lunenburg St, Summer St, Rt. 12, or any of the other main roads around Fitchburg. They are all littered with potholes.
...I blame Unitil. ;-) |

Me too..... OFF - with their heads!:) |

I would rather see that money go to the Pats way before they spend a penney on that nasty town called Fishburg. Hey...have all of the illegals fix the roads for cheap money. |

Fitchburg roads have always been bad. Get used to it. It's Massachusetts. I think only New Jersey has worce roads

Though I don't always travel the mentioned section of 5th Mass I do live off of Franklin road and agree that the roads in the area are riddled with poorly fixed and patched potholes.
