AP Poll: Americans high on Obama, direction of US

For the first time in years, more Americans than not say the country is headed in the right direction, a sign that Barack Obama has used the first 100 days of his presidency to lift the public's mood and inspire hopes for a brighter future. Read more

I don't know where this poll was taken, but every poll I have ever seen is around 65% to 35% against BO.

Did they go to the zoo to take this poll? More liberal propoganda. If you keep telling everyone this garbage, they begin to believe it.

After what Bush did to this country, any new President would have good poll numbers and as long as the extreme right continues to turn off voters without offering anything of substance other than cutting taxes and public services, I see a progressive Democratic government for at least the next 12 years, thank God.

This is a bogus poll. It is done by a liberal media to boost the spirits of a deflated constituency.
All other polls show obama's approval eroding.
A fine example of democrats whistling past the graveyard

Optimistic about Obama. Glad they didn't poll me.

Making kissy with countries whose leaders would like to see us and our families all killed.

Making a stink about fraturnitiy initiation like 'tortures' at Gitmo that prevented a 9/11 in Los Angeles.

Spending money beyond any semblance of decency.

Proposing offshore wind farms that will kill thousands of sea-going birds.

Lengthening unemployment by raising taxes on businesses and business owners

Showing elitism by buying an expensive dog and saying to he11 with the dogs in the pound. Now you know what he thinks of poor people.

Obama is a disaster

Wow, you were right again on this one. All of the usual loonies on this site did go nuts. It may well be too much vicodin in their little delusional minds. Doesn't take much to set them into a ranting fevered rage.

Raul. President Bush wasn't a candidate in the last election. I can guarantee you that he would no longer be making decisions on our country anymore.

Also, your saviour Obama is going to allow the bankruptcy of GM. All the union folks that voted for Obama will be out of work.

Bet they are really thanking Obama for the fact that they now are unemployed.

Bush at the end of his Presidency bailed out GM so its overpaid workers could keep their jobs.

Now who is the bad guy in this respect? Bush or Obama.

The article states that 48% of those polled believe the country is headed in the right direction. And that results in a headline that reads "Americans High On Obama, direction of US".

In the Bush era the headline would have been "Less than Half of Americans Believe US headed in right direction"

Vito you are terribly mistaken and misinformed.

On the international level Obama is regaining our leverage by engaging not threatening.

GM has to file bankruptcy, they blew it by not leading and relying on the sales of SUV's to a limited and diminishing segment of the market.

Caterpillar one of the few surviving large American companies has publicly stated the stimulus plan should be much larger to be effective in rebuilding our infrastructure which is way overdue.

That's funny - I just heard this morning driving into work that most Americans are concerned or unhappy with the direction in which the U.S. is moving on KABC and KFI.

They must take these polls on college campuses or at Starbucks in San Francisco?
Oh, the sheeple, if they only looked at his dismal voting record before voting for him.

LOL
