Public safety: Rescued baby recovering at home

OLATHE | A 7-month-old girl found in a hot sport utility vehicle in Olathe has been released from the hospital.

Police were investigating the matter as possible child endangerment, but no charges had been filed and no arrests made.

The infant was found sweating in the vehicle, with the windows up and the doors unlocked, about noon Monday in the Target parking lot at 20255 W. 154th St. Investigators estimate that the baby was alone about 30 minutes while her mother shopped.

I believe that the mother or whoever left the baby is very irresponsible. If her excuse is that she forgot or she was just going for a quick trip she should not have custody of the children. She was very irresponsible and you can't forget your baby.
