Andrew, I just saw you man. A few weeks ago. We shared some laughs. You were getting so tall. You had such a better head on your shoulders than I did at your age. I just can't believe it. I'll miss you Andrew. I love you buddy

When teenagers are taking the drivers test and the written test for the first time we need to have a special test for them to remind them of common sense rules such as no texting, no cell phone use and paying attention to the road signs. Too may teenagers are losing their lives. The goverment needs to also pass a law against driving while using a cell phone or texting by anyone, this is a accident waiting to happen. Years ago before the cell phone was even thought about people just drove thier car and focused on the road. Now people act like they can't survive with out a phone stuck to their ear. How ridiculous and sad. Get a life people. alot of people just don't having anycommon sense. And no people should not be allowed to drive with a blue tooth either, you are still on nthe phone and concentrating on the phone call. Pull over to the side of the road and don't endanger others lives.

I agree too many people (teens and above) text and/or talk on their phones while driving, but how do you know a cell phone or texting played a factor? Police are still investigating. Please be respectful of his family and friends at this difficult time as they grieve. This young man had his entire life ahead of him. God rest his soul.

To Andrew's family and friends, my condolences. I am truly sorry for your loss. Those who live in rural areas (myself included), please do not become complacent with your roads, road signs, and surrounding area. it's so easy to come up to the stop sign hundreds of thousands of times and have a clear shot. the one time you don't stop, it happens. i see so much of this adults and teens both. pay attention and obey the rules of the road. for everyones sake. RIP

@ concerned citizen....there is no information at this time that indicates a phone or texting was involved in this incident. Please do not insult the family of this teenager by assuming so. Andrew was loved by so many in Gardner and was a role model at school and at his church. Be respecful in a time of great tragedy. Rest in Peace Andrew, you touched the lives of many. My thoughts also go out to the other people involved in the accident.

My prayers go out to the Hurd Family and the other car that was involved. For others that comment, please respect the family with your comments...and do not jump to conclusions about what happened ...nothing has been printed about cell phones of what caused the wreck.

My family will keep you in our prayers. Andrew was very special to my nephew Austin and he considered him his very best friend. This is such a sad and horrible tragedy for every life that Andrew touched.

Dear concerened citizen your comments are not only sick but absolutly repulsive. The young man you are talking about was not only kind to everyone he knew but showed respect and love to those he did not know. As you sat at your desk and typed that did you ever think of the family of this young man, or how about the hundreds of people Andrew deeply inspired. The loss that we feel right now at some times is unbearable, and to the people such as yourselfs stack upon the grief of those who are suffering the loss of Andrew. I truly hope that you can apologize for your actions, the insult that you have thrown to the people of this town goes to show how truly evil your heart is. Not only should you be ashamed of this but look back and regret this for a very long time.

My condolences go out to Andrew's family at this time of sorrow. I didn't know Andrew. I have teenage drivers myself and cannot imagine what his family is going thru today. My thoughts are also with the people he hit and their families. Not only did Andrew lose his life, but he put my co-worker's husband and step-son's life in turmoil. One should recover ok, but the other may not recover at all. It could happen to anyone at anytime but chances lessen if people would slow down and pay attention. Then lives would not be lost or destroyed. Prayers to all involved.
