Unfortunately some of the animals that were removed from the property were not properly cared for once in the possession of the Ulster County SPCA. An employee informed me that a Pit Bull by the name of Punky came from Camille in April. She was determined to be aggressive to all animals after her Behavior Evaluation. Camille Fraracci herself informed Adam Saunders that she had to keep this particular dog on the other side of her properly away from the goats and fowl as she "Will kill anything small and fluffy."
...So why was it that after the trainer and owner of the dog told Shelter Manager Adam Saunders that this dog would kill, did he decide to allow this dog to live in an outdoor run only 2 fences and about 50 feet away from the same farm animals that were removed from the property in May??? Well lets take a guess as to what happened....YES, Punky jumped both fences and attacked the goats. She put punctures all over their faces and legs and one almost lost its leg and almost had to be put to sleep due to its injuries.
The goats lives were spared only because of quick thinking and action of the shelter worker. The shelter worker right after the heat of the moment, still covered in blood, text me what had happened in hysterics. She had to use a break stick to unlatch Punky's jaws off of the goat. The goats are only alive due to her quick response. Whats even more disturbing is that she told me this dog had jumped the fence 2x before the incident and was found wandering outside of the shelter. She asked Shelter Manager Saunders. "Where do you want me to put her?" and his response was: "Back in her run." The worker did as she was told, even though she voiced her concerns about her aggression.
How could he be so negligent if he knew she was aggressive? But wait it gets better....after the attack about 2 weeks afterwards Punky was allowed to be outside in a run, and again, got loose, jumped the fence and attacked the turkey. The turkey's life was spared only because another shelter worker tacked her to the ground. She did manage to rips few feathers out however.
The UCSPCA has a long track record of negligence; allowing its Board members to adopt human aggressive dogs that they can't place, which endangers society. Adam Saunders has many negligent acts to cover up, this is just one! The animals were actually safer with Camille and thats just a joke. And to top it all off, Adam Saunders fired the shelter worker for telling me about the incident, trying to sweep it under the rug so he could benefit in court and look like the "good guy." Camille certainly shouldn't own animals, but the UCSPCA couldn't even keep them safe. And the person who saved their lives gets fired because she text for help in the heat of the moment??? because when it happened she yelled for a coworker to go get Adam, but Mr. Saunders, NEVER even came outside to help her!!!!
The negligence of Adam Saunders should not go unnoticed and there should be justice for the worker who was the hero and saved goats lives but lost her job!!! There is more to this story and Id gladly share it. The Ulster County SPCA needs to be investigated. Saunders never told the worker not to talk about the incident, but he fired her because she did??? WTF?!? Trying to cover his negligence. Shame. On. Him.
