i think that vidio games should be based on more of the survival of"the hood" not just about kiling people . i think those video games are bad but should not be outlawed sometimes people could take their anger out on the game other than really hurting somebody.

YOU CANT LEGALY CENSOR FREE SPEECH, DAMN! THIS IS FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND FREE ENTERRISE. THAT'S WHY WE HAVE A RATING SYSTEM. YOU OUTLAW IT, AND WE'LL GET IT FROM OTHER COUNTRIES VIA DOWNLOAD. you cannot prevent this game from falling into peoples hands. that should be at the discression of the parent.

the problem with games is that somtimes some people for some reason cant see that it is just a game.and the only problem for these tipe is that sometimes these people carry the so called game play out in real life and hurt inocent people.

I really think video games should be censored. I say that because of a couple reasons. One time my cousion was over for a family get-together and he brought one of his fave video games. When i saw what he was doing on the game i thought i was going to be sick. He was playing this fighting game where of he wanted he could rip out someones "insides" or decapitate his apponent or sometimes he even threw someone up in the air and make them land on jagged rocks stabbing them in the back....nasty.
Another reason it think video games should be censored i this, did you know the the army sometimes trains it soliders with video game (video games you can get from a store that sells video games) to get them prepared for war. An 8 year old could be playing that same video game. Should that 8 year old be seeing the same images that soliders see in war. NO.
I have many, many, many more reasons but i have to stop now..OH and also OBSERVING, What he just said was very rude and insultes me.

You've addressed a few different issues here.

You said: "THIS VIOLENCE NEEDS TO STOP."
um, duh...

"I THINK THESE VIOLENT GAMES SHOULD ALL BE BANNED."
Next, they will ban your right to express that opinion. Just as its your right to say what you think (and even what you don't), there is a place
and audience for everything. its like porn: If you believe on the principle of free speech, you can't justify banning it. If you don't believe in free speech, you need to consider relocating to an oppressive regime. However, you can control access to prevent children from exposure to it, engagement with it, or participation in its production.

"8-10YR ... OLDS ARE PLAYING THEM." Again, Controls are the issue here. If children have access to them, then ideally, parents should be held accountable. What consequences can you suggest to enforce accountability? I may think (or YOU may think), that it is child abuse to foster antisocial behavior in a child, but unless that form of abuse is addressed legislatively, it isn't actionable. The parent is the culprit when they fail to protect their child's welfare. Each state would have to more than quadruple its expenditure on child protective services to address this, which is unlikely to happen in this political environment. Though it may spare untold #s of children from a future of ignorance, criminality and violence; would undoubtedly save states, counties, and municipalities substantial amounts of future expenditures for incarceration of violent felons, it is not a priority in an atmosphere where "just say no" is considered to be birth control.

"I WOULDNT WANT MY KID SLAUGHTERING FOR FUN."
Well who would;a serial killer? A sectarian extremist? Even socially alienated dysfunctional parents (lacking the most rudimentary parenting skills), love their children and wouldn't wish them harm.

"BAN IT BAN IT BAN IT!!!!!"
KILL KILL KILL !!!
You can't enforce your views on others. You sound like a jihadist. Find a better way.

as a parent if i buy my kid beer its my fault,if i buy my kid a porno its my fault its the same with games ,guns or anything. if it says mature 17 years or older on the box (AND IT DOES) and you buy it for you 8/10/12/15 year old, its not the game maker that screwed up, its you.
its another example of how people point fingers as opposed to taking responsibility for their actions.
and as an adult, i should have the right to play with as many nonconsequential pixles and polygons that i want. its not real, its a game.
if playing violent games causes violence, then how come when i jump on my sisters head a mushroom doesnt pop out of her ass.
this same mentality was used with Elvis, and rock music then the beatles then black sabbath, then ozzy, then TV,the rap music, and now games. the real responsibility lies with the parents and the people, not music, not tv,not games.
