Parents:
Raves are designed to suck kids into it and keep you in it. Most of the kids at Raves lie to there parents to stay out all night. Why are these things still going on every weekend in San Bernardino? I will tell you because the city doesn't know how to deal with them. It seems like when the Polices are called the answer seems to be " We cant do anything because they have a permit" well I want to see the permit that allows drugs, loud music after 10 PM, young kids breaking curfew, and I don't know if there is a law about underage girls only wearing just there bras and panties (maybe indecent exposure). I have been to a few Real concerts and they all seem to be over by 10 PM because of NOISE issues most City's have a noise law. These Raves are even at the same venues as concerts but some how are on all night. If you remember in Redlands one of the city council members was actually renting a house to the promoter of the Raves at Pharos its big business just like A drug lords. These Promoters make millions every weekend and they seem to act like they care but when the rave changes to 18+ they tend to loose hundreds of thousands of dollars. So they move it or cancel it or just tell there hired security to just ask the kids " are you over 18" without showing ID. San Bernardino needs to grow a pair and stand up to these Raves and the Promoters and the Venues. The Hudson theater is only Here for one Reason and that's to Have Raves and Rap party's. These kids spend all and more of there money on Party's and drugs and water( which is 3$ per little bottle) every weekend. Sure maybe if you go to one rave its fun and harmless, but these kids go every weekend ok not every kid goes every weekend but most try to go every weekend. These kids go to on average 25-30 a year. These kids get in this life style deep and its very hard to get out of. The Hudson has Party's every Friday and Saturday of almost every weekend throughout the year. Last year San Bernardino had approximately 150 Rave party's. To compare A Rave party to a concert is just wrong. San Bernardino knows every weekend there will be thousands of kids and underage kids doing drugs and drinking at these Party's yet they do nothing about them.
This is outrageous...I noticed this story in the paper freerepublic on the 25 th look it up. This is just funny here we are talking about every weekend in San Bernardino thousands of kids on ecstasy, LSD, GHB, Acid, PCP, drinking and yes pot and the City has the balls to shut down and ban Medical Marijuana dispensaries because Studies by other cities show dispensaries contribute to increases in noise, traffic, burglaries and robberies ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! WHAT IS A RAVE... GROW A PAIR SAN BERNADINO!!! STAND UP TO THE LOWLIFE PROMOTERS AND VENUES WHO ARE AIMING DIRECTLY AT OUR KIDS!

You know what you City of San Bernardino? Your absolutely right. I completely agree with you city attorney about these "raves" or "music festivals". Today, I stand behind taking the initiative of stop using the NOS center and keeping these massive productions back in LOS ANGELES, where they appreciate money and peoples livlihoods. As you can see from the article, hotels were booked, gas stations ran out of gas, convenient stores did the best business in a while, and the economy was alive.

The point im trying to get across is out of every bad there lives good. And these were some examples of the good coming from the socalled "bad". It's better off these events take place in los angeles anyways because its a hell hole driving all the way out to San Bernardino; the middle of no-where.

Yeah I once had that mentality....and I went to UCR as well. If you're a smart one, you'll grow out of it.

In the meantime be careful and have a brain of your own....don't be part of the trend. Music is good.....raves are bad. You don't need to be around all those morons, sluty STD carrying girls, drugs, and nasty sweaty tweaked out people to enjoy music. Just a thought....

Why authorities are so picky about drug users? It even sounds silly.
Nobody is being forced to take pills,(but we are forced to pay taxes). Let these people do what they want. Make them sign a release form that if they O.D., the taxpayer doesn't have to cover for ER expenses. That's the individual's own risk and responsibility.
The official authorities' rhetoric about drugs is just as silly as those who condone drugs.
Ignore it - the problem will not disappear, but it will certainly become lighter...

Wow you are sure full of PLUR. You don't know anything about my situation as I know nothing about your situation. If you are a sober Raver and over 18 then good for you and I respect that but with the attitude you are displaying in your comment my guess is you partake in a few drugs (just a guess).
"just cause yew here the world "RAVE" yew automatically think sex,drugs,crime...."
Well yes there are plenty of drugs at Raves and you know that if you don't then you are a poser Raver, Sex well maybe not so much sex but sure sexuality with all the little girls in only there bras and panties that should be classified indecent exposure, Crime well how many people had there stuff stolen at Noc. quite a few as well as cars being broke into as well as gate crashing as well as Rape as well as molestation. I have even herd of the aids crew that's always a good time. My point is I'm glad you are going to school or you have a great job and can afford to party every weekend and still pay all your bills without bumming from people including your parents. Do you know some Ravers have spent over 5,000$ in the last few months just at Raves!! that's a down payment on a new car. I personally feel that responsible Raver are hard to come by. Again if your one of the reasonable ones I commend you.

The Rave lifestyle is just not good for kids. They spend all there money then start begging and looking for handouts to go to the next Rave. The way Raves are designed It lures little kids in for some "kandi" then strips them of there own values and morals because the cool older Raver told them its ok. Ravers and gang banger have allot in common there alternative life has "family's" also Rave moms Rave dads, Rave Family's who guide these kids down a path that is very very hard to get back from. Adults can Party all they want within reason but all age Raves are a different story. Make Raves 18+ min.

like I said you don't know my situation. Yes my son started Raving at the age of 14 now after a long battle with him we finally got him to stop but that is time her will never get back. I do know about Ravers and for the most part when Rolling you are god people but for a few days after you are un-bearable and not very nice. Raves are very addictive ( mentally not physically) and once you get into the Rave lifestyle its very hard to get out of. I wish you the best of luck and maybe you should tell your parents what you do and see how good of a choice you are making.

age 14... see maybe it was the parenting... because i had restrictions and was told i couldnt rave til 18 yrs of age.... ya raves are addicting, but fot the most part people go to have fun and a enjoy the music... and as far as those who see raving otherwise, think automatically they have to be on drugs or drinking to rave... and thats just a personally thing for everyone.. but majority dont go for drugs.. i know...and my mother has been well aware of everything ive done since 18.. ya she may not approve of it.. but at the end of the day its my life... but as for ur 14yr.. ill pray for him.. because young kids like that just want to fit it.. they dont realize what they are doing in there life...

Poor thing, hopefully you're one of the smart ones that grows out of it. And believe me I love the music still and I attend other events that have the same music, but they're full of the people that grew out of the rave junk business and are truly there for music. You may call us Jaded but it's more like we grew up.

And sweetheart, perhaps you could take a break from being an e-tard and pick up a few books. Your comments show a lack of education. Education (not raves) will get you a better, happier life with TRUE PLUR.

Lets thank the 60's and 70's for the evolution of drug parties today (hand of applause). The break down of dance festivals is as follows:

1. You go to these "raves" to do drugs. I dont care what you say, however 99.9% of you go to experience ecstasy, which isnt a bad thing in many cases.

2. After many years of "raving" and growth, most of you will either grow out of this and pursue life time goals.

(However number three is very important...)

3. After your raving life experience, many of you will learn to aquire and have an appreciation for music and harmony. You will have a more subtle heart and you will be less judgmental of your peers. You will learn to listen and understand music, like mozart or beethoven did in their day. Although your life will go on; your perspective and philosophy of life will have changed.

Now, I have to consider psychadelics to be a paradox. On one hand, they encompass all of how we'd like to act and be as a species. They help us understand what cannot be understood. Our cognition becomes universal. Articulating how we feel in words would always be an understatement, or misrepresentation of how we feel. And now for the contradition. However we might feel, whether its on top of the world or extremly amazing; what goes up must come down. Drugs will make you do terrible things, and make you feel terrible things. Its a give and take.

As a parent, i protest my children to go to these events. As a peer, i admonish these events. As a teenager, I thrive for these events.

And what did we do when we were that age ? the same damned thing in a different version. Want to lay blame, blame the parents for not raising their kids right, beyond that kids know right from wrong, simple as that. You play with fire you're going to get burned. Unfortunately individuals close to the victims get burned too. That's life.

I have to agree with the promoter on the semantics of the word "rave". Raves are illegal, secret, underground dance parties. The organized events with permits at professional venues technically are not raves.

That aside... I have just a few comments. First, I grew up in the electronic music scene and have been to many raves and "festivals" in my days. There is no doubt that drug use, esp ecstasy, is a big deal at these events; however, I have two points. The first is that there are *many* more non-drug users than most would expect. Also, I would assert that the drug users will use no matter what the event. I saw identical behavior at many local dance clubs. So, the event does not cause the drug use... users will use regardless. If not at a rave, somewhere else.

That being said, event organizers (just like club owners) need to be diligent in efforts to keep underage kids out, keep drug use down, keep an eye on the safety of attendees, and be good neighbors (noise, trash, loitering, etc) to the surrounding communities.

Raves are not the problem..(some) people are the problem.

stereotypingg is what ur aiming for here
raves are for fun times and listening 2 good music(well what i think is good music)
its just like a huge party think of it that way
of course youd go straight 2 drugs nd wat not
cuz every raver does drugs right?..wrrongg
people who rave and actually have control of themselves will do wat they want, take drugs and drink or not
not every single raver is an e tard or watever people call it
and this thing about "lil girls in bra and panties" is also false
they dont strip off all their clohes till theyre just in underwear
yeah maybe a shirt goes off or they wear clothing that shows skin
but for that part its not lil girls(ur exaggerating on that) most of them are prolly 20 and over
same thing happens at concerts..people get crazy..a drunnk chick takes her shirt off sometimes even flashing her tits
ur saying raves are pretty much a beginning of a bad lifestyle
it depends on what road that person takes, end of story.
