Don't these heathens fear the wrath of God? What would Jesus say? I say, turn the church into a prostitute, crack and rat infested rooming house. The Lord works in mysterious ways, my friends. You reap what you sow.

Before I add my two cents worth and condemn or condone this issue, could someone please explain the drawback to permitting this building be zoned into a "church"? I mean seriously, folks, could this really have such a seriously negative impact on our lives? What's the real issue here? Our world is so screwed up right now, we all could use all the prayer we can get!

Anyone can start a church and get all the tax exempt benefits allowed. It' quite a racket. Remember Jim Baker?

I'm doubious at best about these small churches. I think it's someone trying to take advantage of a tax free status on both property and income tax. Worse yet this reverend my see using these parishioners as mere pawns in a scam.

Now for the neighborhood - church wants to add parking - how does a paved over front yard grab you? Wanna live across the street from that? Or maybe he just plans to turn his back yard into a parking lot. Is that the neighborhood these folks bought into?

Love the paper signs stating what the variuos rooms are for in his house. Wouldn't surprise me if that makes just enough square footage in his home to qualify as a 'church'.
The people of Newbridge Road just want a normal neighborhood - thats all. Not for nothing but being real close to a church, temple, etc is a NEGITIVE on your property value.

If the guy is truely sincere he will rise above this 'government oppresion' and rent some commercial space or buy time in an already existing house of worship.

The main problem North Bellmore residents have is that their property values will decrease. The church wants to pave most of the grass on its property to make way for a bigger parking lot. Parking has always been a major issue, with church members constantly parking in front of other homes. The new lot would surround the house (church) and of course be illuminated. Homeowners adjacent to the Church (mainly those on Jeffrey Dr) dont want the increase noise/ pollution from cars and illumination of the lot in their backyards.

Another ojection is that the church doesnt conform to the surrounding residential area. This part of Newbridge Rd is one lane and lined with single family homes. The church also displays a large cross with a sign and the home is lit with white christmas lights 24/7.

This is the church here on google.maps (its left and down from the arrow, house is on an angle)

Nice way to talk about an ordained pastor, imagine what you say about your own mom, she must me proud. Pretty sad when people don't want to see a church helping others and the community, but they would settle with watching criminal acts occur without calling the police. What a great society we have become that we don't want a church on a main road. "In God We Trust", has lost it's meaning to some but not to all. God have mercy on this country. P.S. there are churches that aren't cults, get off your couch and sit in one to appreciate the power and love of God.

The North Bellmore School District needs all the help it can get with corrupt education administrators and the notorious JASPAN, SCHLESINGER AND HOFFMAN law firm protects these incompetent superintendents and greedy school administrators which was widely exposed by NEWSDAY last week. They need all the prayers they can get from Pastor Russell Sacco! Leave him alone!

Interesting that there's plenty of parking yet people say they are parking in front of their homes. Your property value isn't going down from a church it's going down because it's the way the economy is heading, as well as the drug and crime rate in the adjacent areas. I'm sure that your neighborhood kids cars cause more noise pollution than the church goers. Face it, you don't want God's house near yours, don't camoflouge the real reason with nonsense. Close the church and put in a Sober house or a group home, or better yet rent it to 30 illegals or make it a crack house, then compare your house value. You surely can't be serious.

I have to hand it to the pastor: he's figured out an answer to his property tax problem. We should all think outside the box like him.

Who in their right mind would want a church in their neighborhood? Not with young boys running around. Those guys are predators. It's like having the Republican headquarters move in.

TAKE A RIDE THROUGH CEDARHURST, WOODMERE OR LAWRENCE. EVERY FEW BLOCKS HAS AT LEAST 2 OR 3 HOUSES CONVERTED TO TEMPLES OR OTHER TYPES OF RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS. THEY HAVE GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT FOR YEARS SO I DON'T SEE THE PEOPLE OF NORTH BELLMORE WINNING THIS BATTLE. WISH THEM LUCK.
