Here is food for thought......Who makes the laws in this country? and aren't many of those congressmen and senators lawyers? Who are the local law makers? many are lawyers. Who judges cases brought before them? Aren't they lawyers? Who oversees lawyers? The Bar association, made up of lawyers. For those of you who have been through divorces, who negotiates in tough situations? The lawyers, who by the way work together a lot.
So in fewer words, lawyers make the laws, lawyers judge the laws, lawyers enforce the laws, and lawyers oversee each other.
What do you expect???? Is this a suprise???
Makes about as much sense as an Police Internal Affairs Division investigating complaints about their own police. Go figure!

I am personally offended by this article. Frank Marino and Shirley Ehman were my grandparents. After their death I thought they had received their peace but the harshness of this article truly showed me that people in this world have no heart to go and post this in the news. To Ms. Givens I hope you are proud of yourself for being one of those heartless people who have to reminded the families of their loved ones wrongdoings.

Well Frank & Shirlry don't sound like nice people, they sound like scammers. I don't scam from peoples grandchildren, and would be angry if it happened to me. I guess they took good care of you, so your not such a sore looser, but ah the sins of the grandparents can punish you and yours someday.

How much of the stolen money was spent on their whining grandchildren like yourself.

"The husband-and-wife team stole from dozens of people over 40 years of handling wills and real estate transactions in Lake Ronkonkoma. All the while, prosecutors said, they were living large, shopping for themselves and their children at Saks Fifth Avenue and FAO Schwarz."

Curious comments from Amanda. I can sympathize with you. I knew Frank and Shirley my whole life - from the day I was born. My parents were close friends of theirs for over 50 years. Maybe even best friends for all that time. They attended every major family event of my childhood and early adult years. They were very kind to myself, my siblings and my parents over many years. And guess what - Frank and Shirley ripped my parents off after all that time and years and years of a close friendship. It was devastating to our family - more for the loss of faith in humankind than for the financial loss (which was quite significant). To this day, its hard to understand how frank and shirley could have done this to people who trusted them. And never an apology. Guess it just shows how imperfect people are - lawyers in particular.

Yes, most of the money was spent on my family however when they went to jail they came to us for all the money stolen. So yes my family did pay for what my grandparents did to us. You don't have to be an insensitive ass.

My family was ripped of for $500,000 by James Clark...
I send him and his children and ALL his neighbors a letter every year... Funny though no one has sued me for defamation...

I would have hoped that 20 yrs would have tamed the hate or whatever this is still going on between two brothers united by one man, their father. Everyone makes mistakes, we learn and go on hopefully and live our life. What would dennis say about you two. No one gets to pick their relatives, so leave each other alone, live in peace, nothing in you lifetime will change what each of us has done in the past. But we can change our future. It is only money, and money will destroy people. How much time do the two of you have left in the world, 20yrs maybe 30. Stop it please.....
