Well, Sherlock, we have a mystery to solve down at the Sea Cliff Beach. A woman with curly blond hair supposedly vomiting between cars? Heavy set but not really fat? Meow. Sounds like a Sea Cliff woman describing a former girlfriend in a catty way. Sounds like the woman is a bit jealous that her husband sent her ahead to the family car so he could tend to the blonde, which he did in a gentle and gentlemanly manner. Chivalry is not dead. But the poor guy likely got it in the neck from his wife for stopping by the distressed blonde in the first place. Go sleep on the couch. Well, the blonde did get home safely and soundly, thank you. She had slipped on the curb and was dazed by the fall. Could have happened to anybody. But a jealous busy-body, of course, would naturally want to make it into something bigger and badder. Gossip monger? Good guess.

Why put beach info on b. brown's thread? Why not?
Beach and concession stand are open each weekend through Sep. 25. So enjoy while the weather is good. Fire department has a hoedown at the beach coming up, but check posters in town for details. Or at beach desk.

In this case, we're talking not so much about celebs as we are of fathers and mothers bringing their pre-school children into B. Brown's Kitchen for breakfast or lunch. What a sight it is. The boy or girl sit up straight in their chair while Jeannette or Victoria bring the food to the table. Like grownups, they eat carefully and politely. Of course, there is conversation between parent and child, and it is so full of love I can't stand it. The latest was Wes Leach and his daughter Carolyn. The three-year-old daughter is named after the popular waitress at Gallagher's Pub with mother Monica Smith giving the honor to her best friend. A sheet was put up on the beach pavilion for the Carolyn memorial party. A gentle breeze made the sheet wave and the faces from the slide show made the photos shimmer as if to give the subjects life. It was eerie to see Carolyn's smile look so real but comforting to all. Go to B. Brown's for a great meal, open from 7 am to 3 pm.

A familiar face has been missing for three weeks. Larry Martone, a b. brown's regular, slipped and feel, hurting his back on Aug. 26. He is recovering in Glen Cove Hospital with daily therapy.

Did you catch the Dr. Phil Show earlier this week when he got an exclusive interview with the parents of Casey Anthony, who allegedly killed her 2-year-old daughter but was acquitted by a jury.
Dr. Phil started by asking the Anthonys, "Was Casey a good little girl when she was young, or did you just let her get away with murder?" End of interview.

I bring my friend's boys, ages 11 and 8 years old, to B. Brown's Kitchen and they love it. Eggs, potatoes and sausage are their favorite breakfast. One the many delicious salads (egg, chicken, tuna) is their favorite lunch. The countergirls get a kick talking to them and finding out about school, etc. And they enjoy saying hello to people I introduce them to. Try the place for its friendliness and ambience. Bright and cheerful.

Oh, yeah. Sea Cliff mayor Bruce Kennedy gets his breakfast at B. Brown's Kitchen, which is two doors away from his window finishing business. Joe Krupinski, who ran for mayor in 2009, eats at one of B. Brown's cozy tables across from the firehouse. Their schedules coincide for breakfast, so they always say hello to each other. It wasn't always so cordial, but it looks like they are pals now. Almost.

There are regulars who come in at a specific time like clockwork. These include the Prez, Neil, Dodd and Laura, of course Julie, Kenny, his mother Peggy, on Fridays only Ann, Nancy and Jacqueline, plus the breakfast club of motorcylists and their wives Saturdays and Sundays. There are two Doreens in this group which makes it difficult to talk to their table. More on B. Brown's Kitchen as early as tomorrow...

Sorry, we missed a few days of B. Brown's Kitchen news. That's because we haven't been there. Had some nice breakfasts made by my sweetie instead. But I'll be back, because I like the regulars crowd that shows up each morning. It's not only breakfast but a social event also.

More mothers are bringing in their children to enjoy the healthy food and friendly ambience that makes B. Brown's Kitchen such a nice occasion. My favorite boy is 5-year-old Aaron (he prefers to be called Buster, a name his father Mitch gave him). This pre-schooler comes with his mother Patricia and is astute enough to order for himself at the counter. Whenever he comes, he comes over with his hand extended for a shake. Then we mutually move together for a hug and a few words of the latest news from him. He always knows just what he wants to tell me. It is one of the pleasures of B Brown's.

I went to that luncheonette all the time, Hot Dog. We even sat next to each other. You said, 'Pass the salt', but you didn't say please. I remember like it was yesterday.

Sounds like a very condescending opinion of the food at B. Brown's, Phil, which is a bad rap. The food is good and the variety is, too. The people are real nice and those who come in start up conversations with each other at the tables. What better setup of friendliness is there?

B. Brown's Deli across from the firehouse is where the Sea Cliff elite meet. Firstly, Mayor Bruce Kennedy frequents the place because he likes it and it's just two doors away from his business. He gladly talks to anyone with something on their mind or just to say hello. He joins the Friday Breakfast Club on Fridays because they are lovely, interesting and full of fun: Anne DiPietro, Nancy Gordon, Jacqueline Warren and Eda Mullins D'Amico. I personally have my favorite friends, Larry Martone, the Prez (named after James Monroe, our fifth U.S. President), Neal Lieberman (no relation to Eddie, although he comes in, too) and Jack Pierce. come join the camaraderie.
