Two charged in Sumpter murder

This is a horrible and tragic case. I feel for all of the families involved...both the victim family and the accused individuals.

First, sad but true, this is going to be a racially charged case. The victim was White. The accused include a African-American male and a White Female. We as citizens of this community need to remember that the accused white female in this case has as big of a bond as the African-American male and the same exact charge....Open Murder 1.

So, it would appear that the police, at this point feel as if both of the accused individuals where EQUALLY involved in this crime or else one of the accused persons would be charged with a lesser crime against the victim.

Also, pulling up one of the accused prior criminal records (see posting number 2) does not prove this accused person did this crime more so than the other accused person. Both people in this case are charged with the SAME CRIME...regardless of their priors. Let keep this in mind.

I hope that a resolution of the proper sort will be given in this crime for the victim family and friends. We as citizens must remember that accused are innocent, until proven guilty by a reasonable doubt. Also, we must not let the races of both the victim and the accused temper our "quick to convict" in this case.

People should remember the case of Orange Taylor BEFORE they are quick to convict the accused. They (as in both inidividuals) are accused of this horrible crime until proven BEYOND a reasonable doubt of guilt.

Mr. Taylor was hyped in the media to be guilty also. His first trial was a mistrail. The second trial will happen shortly to see if he is convicted on this horrible crime against Ms. Dickerson.

Right now, Mr. Taylor is still "The Accused", not convicted. Innocent, until proven guilty, is a statement the community needs to take to heart in this case also.
