Formaldehyde-Free Smoothing Treatment
This treatment is completely natural and environmentally safe, and only selected JCPenney salons will offer this service. Only a selected few Senior and Master designers will be trained and certified to perform the Chi Smoothing Treatment.
It eliminates up to 95% of frizz, reduces CURL and instantly adds amazing shine, SILKINESS and condition to the hair. It is a protein reconstructing complex with amino acids, and proteins to increase shine and strength. It is free from formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing chemicals. Its protein and amino acid complex allows TEMPORARY change in the structure of hair fibers, leaving hair easier to comb, as well as silkier, smoother and shinier hair.
The hair will gradually revert to its natural state!
The more hair is treated with CHI Enviro American Smoothing Treatment, the healthier it becomes. With each treatment, the absorption of protein and amino acid complex make the hair regenerate natural proteins, repel humidity, blow dry faster, style easier and be straighter and shinier.
Smoothing treatment results can last up to 4 months depending upon hair type and maintenance at home from client. It is recommended that customers use the Sulfate free CHI Enviro Home Care Maintenance Shampoo and Conditioner

had this done at their salon. I never had a problem with keratin, nor did I request "environmentally safe" nor anything lke that. In fact, all I asked was for Keratin treatment in my hair.
The front of my hair is undyed and white (from my greying hair) I want it that way, and go through the trouble of not touching that part when I dye my hair at home, and when I go to the salon.
Chi changed the color of my hair. The dyed hair went from dark brown to reddish light brown. Any my undyed white is now caramel blond. I am very unhappy. I can always redye the back but the front I have to wait for it to regrow. That could take upwards of a year.
I've been reading the reviews and find that the color change is pretty common. If I had knonw there was even a possiblity of that, I would not have done it. And to add insult to injury, my hair is still frizzy. A tiny bit less, but definitely not worth the money.

i am a stylist. it's hard to determine what a chemical process will do to your hair, each person's hair is different. it may produce the same result in 99 people, but that 1 last person may experience something completely different. results can be affected by many things, such as medicines, illnesses, allergies, or previous hair treatments.
i'm sorry you had a bad experience, but don't let that sour you on the salon, stylist, or the product. for frizz, try to apply a tiny amount of leave-in conditioner or smoothing treatment. paul mitchell and it's a 10 have good products for that. also, try using a platinum shampoo, such as shimmering lights, to try to pull the caramel color out of your front. if you choose to recolor the back, you can use the shampoo all over and it will brighten up your color. i use another name brand of the same kind of shampoo and it keeps my blond highlights white instead of brassy or caramel.

Your stylist should have told you about the color change any chemical service like this will lighten you hair. As far as the frizz it should only take out 95% only if you use the products that go with the service.
