This man does not represent the norm of our sport and it is disheartening that he is consistently portrayed in news reports as an expert skydiving instructor. He may be so, but that is irrelevent to the crime he comitted and I and all the skydivers I know who are familiar with the case feel sadness for the Eldred and Sweet families. Our sympathies go out to them and as a community we wish them well and hope they are able to find peace after their grief. Personally, I think the sentence is lenient but that is not Kollias' fault. The State needs to re-vamp sentencing guidelines specifically related to drunk driving, motor vehicle accidents and motor vehicle operations.
