I worry about these folks every time I drive past them. I wish they had their own road that we could bicycle on too maybe. "Just Sayin" find some class.

I know 62 can have some curvy roads. Did the buggy have the reflectors? Was the truck going the speed limit? Give us some more details Dispatch!!

Here's hoping the two teens make a full recovery and the driver of the box truck gets some therapy.

Some if not most families were there before the cars... I've always felt that most of the roads in their vicinity are theirs. The standard when driving in these areas: SLOW DOWN. When you come upon a buggy and feel the need to pass, turn your headlights on and pass (giving wide berth)at a quiet steady pace. This avoids any possibility of spooking the horse, etc... These counties have room enough for everyone, and since the rural & peaceful settings are the reason that most of us visit or live there, it would be a nice gesture for us "English" to act responsibly and drive safely!

Why are they implying that it was the truck's fault? How do we know? This article is pretty vague. The horse could have stepped side ways to avoid something in the road or just being willful. Maybe she lost control of the animal. I have always thought bikers, buggys and pedestrians have no business on the same road as a car. Sorry but the cars pay the taxes via gasoline to pay for the road. They aren't allowed on the freeway, now are they?

Do not make comments like that those poor teens were growing up in an alternative lifestyle that you do not understand. I am sending prayers to their families and I hope both girls will recover.

They have just as much right to the road as cyclists do....and with many of the same results!

This beautiful area in Ohio is home to a large Amish population. Please drive with caution--over the crest of any hill there could be an innocent family in a buggy.

These Amish need to lose their ridiculous ideas about the world and stop riding around in buggies like it's 1850.
Not to mention the fact that they are a horrible group of people who make their living either by running puppy mills or tax scams.
Also, if Amish are so against electricity, why do I see their kids running from the barn to the house carrying a fresh popped bag of microwave popcorn every time I visit?
They do make some good cheese though...just sayin'

Well for me they should stay off the roads the buggys are traffic accidents waiting to happen, i have come close to hitting them a few times all because of their carelessness not mine if they can ride on our roads than so can four wheelers they cause less traffic problems and besides that they can ride in our cars when they feel like it come on i have no sympathy for them and their using ways, this is amertica be american or leave no one will stop u....

Wow, you succeeded on being the biggest dummy on this thread. Do you realize there are several different sects within the Amish community, some even drive cars on one side and some on the other don't have in door plumbing. Yes, the Amish have been busted with the puppy mill thing, but so have non-amish. And what about the Amish who farm, make furniture, and the like? Are they just collateral damage in your hate speech?

The Amish could lose their traditions, but I'm afraid you'd have a hard time losing your stupidity.

There is nothing wrong with the way the Amish live.
They choose to keep the bills to a minimum (At least they don't use the Welfare system). We need to pay better attention and slow down

And Just Why are you trying to pin this blame on the teens when the truck hit them they didn't hit it it hit them that is why the blame is on the trucker. BECAUSE HE IS TO BLAME FOR HITTING THEM.

I am praying that everyone will be alright and I do believe there is room for both the buggy's and cars on the roads. The biggest problem I see is they don't observe the same rules of the road. Like stopping when they come to a stop sign. Many of times they have pulled right out in front of me.
