Joseph Sanders was a week away from finishing his first year as a California Highway Patrol officer and ending his employment probation.

Now this was a guy who deserved our respect. I wish I could've known him personally. I feel blessed, though, that there are people like him out there, keeping us safe from the knuckleheads.
