Shiprock was once a thriving lil town, untill AIM came along in '73 and shut down the Fairchild Semiconductor plant, there went all the jobs.

It saved you from using chop sticks and bending over to greet illegals.
How it it dying?
White kids are acting black too. Are you?
This is why almost everything we use is made in China? And now illegals can go to college in some states and pay less than what a veteran does.?

What's your current fame in Shiprock?

The "new" homes being demolished? Good use of funds.

Maybe Russell, Chili, RBDO and the Navajo Tribal Government can get Shiprock to #1 in the race to become the poorest Native community in the US.

Go ahead and let it happen you smart Navajo Voters! Hahaha. Dumb Navajo relatives.

It appears we agree on the no zero policy not being a good idea. Apparently it has become the next IT thing in educations circles. Hopefully it runs its course and goes away.
As far as the comming together comment. The talk and rhetoric comming out of kirtland by many people, gave the impression that there was no room for compromise. Unfortunately Mr. Whammer Jammer is not alone with the tone of his rhetoric in the community either. I heard very Whammer Jammer like comments come from many whom I thought were reasonable people in kirtland.
I have told my children to not come back to this area, they can find better opportunities and people elsewhere. I want them to be judged for their accomplishments, not the color of their skin or their religion.
I am afraid with what I see in kirtland, the only way things will change is when the whammer jammer generation is in a nursing home. You can't unteach something as ugly and ingrained as what showed up to that board meeting in may of 2011. It was very unfortunate and really a self inflicted tragedy for the people of kirtland.
Hopefully some of the better natured people of Kirtland start to build those bridges, and repair the damage done.
I see the current board and the superindendent as setting the middle ground, at least as far as education goes where both sides need to meet, and work together. Who knows if it will succeed. Or even if both selfish sides of this age old arguement will allow it to succeed. But we owe our youth at least this much to try.
Sad......so sad...people like you have such ingrained prejudice....your hatred of the mormon community has blinded you. You actually think all property tax paying citizens of this community are mormon...sad, because, if you did your homework, as I did, you'll discover, most if not all property tax paying citizens of this community are not of the mormon religion. Repair the damage done...the current board....who's the top? Where does his crimes fall into the current board prospective? Hmm? Work together? Clean it up. Then we'll talk. Make sure you have a 'clean slate' to start with. What you've given us? Uh...no.

Was is not Chili that proudly stood on top of the Fairchild building holding a rifle. How many jobs did this action cost the Navajo Nation? What a bunch of idiots that re-elected this idiot.

Thank you "Chili" for all the lost jobs. What have you got planned for SR now? Instead of being the third most impoverished indian community in the US, do you want to make us #1 ? I hate everything you stand for. I think that you are corupt. We have not forgotten BCDS and you affiliation with SR RBDO and the Shiprock Navajo Fair, Inc. Why are you trying to pay these idiots? They have taken the most from the SR community. RESIGN and go crawl in a hole. You old farts elected genuine corrupt individual? Also Russell Begaye is not much better.

Ozborne on the Navajo Nation. The Navajo Nation is going down hill fast. In Shiprock we need to become #1 at something. We could start by becoming the most impoverished Native community in the US.

Also, someday I want to see the SR Chieftains #1 in boys and girls basketball. I would like to also see SR high have the highest graduation rate in the state without the "no child left behind program."

They are doing a wonderful job don't you all think? All according to the master plan? Keep the status quo? When will the Navajo Nation wake up from it's slumber? 2014 is fast approaching.
