Yea now my kids get watch other paly sports and other activities. I wish we could put this back up on the balliot until it fails. They get what they wanted and when they need more money the will threated the voters agian. They held these kids captive so they can continue to spend like they have a money tree in the back yard.... that is right they have the voters that will continune to give this board what they want and no cuts will be made.

Way to go! How can all you yes voters be so dumb. You gave the BOE just what they wanted. Now they get their nice raises and alot of people are probably going to lose their homes. Won't be long before people are moving out in the middle of the night because this levy pushed them over the edge. And everybody knows that it will be less than 2 years before they start this same crap all over again, whining they need more money. That is what is wrong with this whole country.Too many people satisfied with the status quo. Well you got what you wanted and the town is going to be an even bigger mess than if it had failed again. Nice job....morons.

Folks, there is a reason it has failed four times- this school board has shown time and time again that all they want is more and then after they get that...they want MORE. Nothing short of a lack of financial responsibility and accountability.

I would like to thank southwestern for turning neighbor against neighbor and using the students as pawns. I wouldn't send my kids to this district if paid to do so. In the meantime I may be forced to sell (or have foreclosed on) the house I pay for to keep my in-laws with a roof over their heads. Thanks to this levy another family may be homeless soon just so your kid can have something to do after school.
Rip on if you want BUT if you can't afford to pay the full bill for your own kid then you should have abstained from the fun.

It's amazing how people forget the past. Ten years ago they pulled the split sessions on parents to get what they wanted. They have once again used the kids to get what they wanted, more of your money. I hope you all have it or there will be a nice bloom of orange stickers on doors next year! When are you going to wake up people? Do you have your head in the sand or somewhere else?

For all the people upset that this thing passed... You have to keep in mind that your property value was on the line, nobody wants to move to a crummy school district... Maybe these kids will remember where they are from, (when they are old and grey) and remember the opportunities they had, maybe they will pass the chances on to the next generations... It's all about community.

I can see the truth in what "on the way down" has said. They just push this stuff around like it is the only way to have a decent education. Folks, it is not that simple, and the pawned kids were also not able to use tennis courts during the last several months. Hmmm, is there really any upkeep needed from the schools be this type of usage? Nah, it was to put people in fear and bondage. That is what they have sold to us; Fear, and I won't be buying. SW Schools should be ashamed of the way that they shared their plans. The administration is so pathetic, as they can't reach any tax payers that don't have the fear instilled. Will live with the decision either way, and will be the type of neighbor to help some in need. Just like we have always done for fund raising. Wait, wasn't that for the schools here as well? Someone please stop the neverending potential to bring on more levies. We are not the only ones hurting on this.

If the levy doesn't pass, homeowners in the district will lose a lot more in home equity than the cost of the extra tax for the levy because no one will want to live there.

You opponents of this levy are amazing. A $100,000 house only has an extra $250 of texas for this. That's chump change. An easy way to afford this is don't go out to eat as much. If you have a $200,000, we'll say it's $500 extra. If you have that expensive of a home, you can afford that. And quit complaining about the method of getting this passed. Do you have any bright ideas on how else to do it. And even if you do have some, this is the way we do it right now. Deal with it. And BDT is ridiculous. The district is already a mess. If this would have failed, no one would have been able to sell a house to save their lives. It'll still be hard. I am very happy this passed.

Good for SWCS. What some voters don't realize is that it may actually allow some people to move into the district and for it to be not such a black spot in Franklin County. "It takes a village"...and sometimes a little personal sacrifice is worth it...every penny. Cutting one personal luxury out of a monthly budget can do a lot! The students, parents, and teachers deserve a vote of confidence.

BTW, no idea why my last post said I'm from WCH. I live here in the midst of the administration truth stretching. I got a good kick out of the recent fear post that said this is about community. Yeah, and where has that been on other things aside from taxpayer money? Ya really think that this will make home values go up? You don't have any idea of the age demographics in this area. People will be forced to move out because of the loosely organized rallies for more money. Who will move in those better valued homes? Maybe you should have considered a public school rally to support people that don't have the money to give to the enablers of misfunded activities. Where was the outpour for our older neighbors here? I have not seen it one bit, and would be happy to report when SWC schools looks one inch beyond their own pockets. We will slam this down eventually, as there are also rights for home owners. Many will wise up if this levy actually passes, and they see the missappropriated funding. You will cry then.

You know its funny that all that speack some how forget you were once there age!!!Although you may now be old your kids have graduated its no longer a concern for you!!!This is about community action as we all come together to give the kids back what we had at one point!!The most that you see in disagreement is old miserable people that arent happy with what they did with there life an they could care less about anyone else!! Whoever says no to issue 47 is selfish an need to understand that this goes deeper then just the school this has to do with drop outs, violence, babies having babies and etc......

Does anyone know how the Southwestern School district compares to other districts in terms of tax revenue to student ratio? I'll bet the Dublin kids not only get 5 times as much, they probably get a larger percentage of the total income too. Why is that?

I know it took courage to pass this. I want to thank all of you. We'll be able to retain the quality of teachers and administrators we have in this district with the 4% raise over the next couple of years. This will be important as we teach them the necessary 'green' skills they will need to prosper in the 21 ST century.

Again, thank you all.

I just cant believe all of you negative people on here! If you dont want to pay extra taxes in our community for our kids then move somewhere else! I have family that work for the district and I know the facts.Obvisouly none of you do! We havent had a levy pass in a long time. You NO people really need to just move somewhere else. Since you dont like our children or this community!!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Capricorn

With dark Pluto under pressure in your sign, this rather grave mood has been colored by the current state of a relationship. It isn't going as well as you would like, probably because you're feeling distanced. It's an inward-looking phase, full of obstructions, but best not to worry about things that might never happen, nor to stew about problems that are little more than ancient history. It's the festive season, so raise the cup of kindness and help those less fortunate than yourself.
