Haunted Rocks in Irishtown

Any of the locals up around Irishtown way know the where abouts of "Haunted Rock", where the ghost of a man, from a century ago, wearing work clothes and holding a latern can be seen.

We understand it may be located off old Irishtown Road on the State Gamelands.

Any help in directions to this area would be appreciated.

It's has been written about in the book, County Chronicles of Fayette County, I think.

Bob Martin lives near the Irish Town Sportsman Grounds on Hardy Hill Road on the right side of the road. He knows where the rock can be found.

The haunted rock is located in Dunbar on Hardy hill rd.Near Robert Martins House.

The rock is on the right side of the road ,as you turn on irishtown road ,turn left at dick Lowry's trailor it's
a public road...follow the road it is on the right side of road, right after you go around the first curve about 100 yards..........Ghost Rock...The man got killed by a runaway iron ore dump cart ,that road on rails.....his name was John Stone from Dublin Ireland......irishtown road is on the left as you go up Hary Hill Rd......creepy at nite..........

So then Haunted Rock or Ghost Rock is on the right side of the road after the first bend and is not the big boulders on the hill side on the left side of the road.?

The old Hennesy School. Is it located on out that road just to the left before you cross Irishtown Run? Lots of remains of ols stone walls in there.

I visited the site this summer in August ,but in the daytime so it was just rocks but I'.m told it is quite eerie at night, The area around it is beautiful tho. Shirley Miller

WHERE IS DICK LOWREY AND WHERE IS HIS TRAILOR????!!! WE DROVE UP AND DOWN THAT HILL FOR 2 HOURS LOOKING FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!
