NO teachers wana teach you. they would rather be greedy and strike for money and free healthcare. They want more for teaching and they want it NOW or no teaching for them. they are throwing a fit because they want more money, but they do not want to do more for the raise they just want a raise. We have such great "teachers".
Amen! all the teachers here in gallia co are so damn stupid and some of them deep down hate their job and you can tell by the way they act in the classrooms but I'm sure some teachers or their family will get on here and beg to differ! they need to pay for their own healthcare and no raises cause we have paid enough for the quality schools!

Please tell me you're not as dumb as this post makes you out to be. This has to be the most misinformed, uneducated, and unaware post I have read on this thread. How about you go gather your facts and then come back and post on here. Calling an educated group of people dumb when you don't even know them individually is a bit ignorant.

I haven't lived at home or relied on my parents for years. I own my home and work to maintain what I have, but thank you for your concern. I am not calling you dumb, I just wish you knew the facts. If you had a hard working parent who you hate to see struggling, you would understand why I am for the teachers getting a raise. My parent deserves fair pay and insurance. Doesn't everyone?

I think everyone deserves fair pay. but it should be earned and not just handed to you. Most of the teachers in gallia deserve more pay but there are some out there that shouldn't be teaching at all. I have 3 school age chilren and I have seen how some of these teachers treat and teach these students. So to be fair to the ones that deserve it maybe they should start by giving them raises based on there performance. I work 40 plus hours a week and thats the only way we get raises. this seperates the ones that want there job and don't mind busting there humps from the ones who are just there to collect a paycheck and don't care about anything or anyone.
I agree with you

Salaries of those who received raises should be public knowledge. It would be great to see the names of those who got raises and their current salaries. It would be even better to get some of the teachers to post on topix what their salaries are as well. My guess is that Charla Evans and those that she considers "worthy" are the ones that received pay increases. If the teachers aren't getting the support they need from the administration, it directly affects the children. From what I have heard and witnessed, its more than obvious that the kids of Gallia County are'nt the first priority of Charla Evans or the supporting administration.

That's just nonsense.
I have a hard time believing anyone would think that a teacher is overpaid. As for them paying for their own health insurance, that would be cutting their salary even more. That is why collective bargaining is so important. If more people would stand up and unite, as the teachers did, against their employer things would be a great deal better for the American worker. It's not about greed, it's about workers rights. I bet everyone reading this thinks they are not getting paid enough for the job that they do. If you had an organization that would fight for your salary and benifits, wouldn't you stand behind it. America needs unions, now more than ever. United we bargain, but alone we suffer.

Cut and post to check the salary of any teacher or school employee

Looks like a good deal if you teach, with free insurance and retirement.

Most people pay a % of their insurance look at the cost today I pay $500.00 a month out of pocket for my family insurance it's not fair but you have to do what you have to do. Don't the employees that have insurance thur there spouse get a check for not taking the county insurance just sayin'

It sounds like those that aren't getting their insurance "free" are jealous. They are too ignorant to get a job in which insurance is provide and too ignorant to realize that insurance is part of the educator's benefit package. I'm not an educator, but my insurance is provided. When I was offered a salary it included the cost of my insurance. I didn't get that money, but instead, I got insurance. If I didn't need their insurance, I could have selected the cash option.

Why dont you all go charla evans and ask her to take a pay cut. She makes well over 100,000 a year a long with a couple other people. And there has been NO strike date yet so your kids will go to school on Tuesday. And, also go to a board meeting once in awhile and you might know something. Those school board members are terrified of ol charla. Why ill never know. You want your voice heard go to a board meeting. You also need to bitch about your school buses hauling to many kids on it. Its a danger to them. Their bus wrecks and your child may get injured.

Should have thought ahead and supported the teachers future rather than run out and build a bunch of new schools just to put a feather in Charla's cap. Yes, new buildings a facilities are great but, they are only as good as the teachers that work there. Stand up for your rights, that's what this country is about.
The county schools are rated "excellent" as opposed to the city schools "satisfactory". The teachers at the county schools care about the future of this county unlike the teachers at The city schools, they just push students threw, hands out grades thru the resource room. These teachers need to stand up for what's right, they have proven the quality of there work, don't let people dictate cowardly threats. Without teachers you have no school.
