Holzer Clinic is so small they informed us that we could not even speak to their employees (our friends) when they are away from work. My child was not allowed a "free" plastic football at a recent game because of our family being kicked out.

I work hard everday I have never been on public assistance. I pay almost three hundred dollars a month for insurance (health). I feel Holzer owes me great care and has no right to Kick out children! Anyone who thinks kicking out children needs to ask god for help. Anon is a baby born at Holzer raised under Holzers care and look how it acts like a spoiled brat all high and mighty telling people to use more birth control Anon needs spayed ! Anon is a product of Holzers and Anons thinking is the Holer difference. This is why Holzer needs shut down.

From reading past post no one needs spend time answering Anon. Ignore it and it will go away. "I sure as hell won't be demanding it or complaining about it." All this dope has done is complain about people it feels is irresponsible and should not have children. It tells you in one post that it has money problems then in another it says it teaches people around the world how to be responsible. Apparently it is not very good at its job or it would not be in such financail woes. What ANON and other like it do not understand is it is the people who truly are freeloaders that do not have to worry about being kicked out of Holzer Clinic. It is the hard working folk who are not on government programs who get the boot. If you work a job and buy your own insurance you run the risk of being terminated. If you do nothing and live off the state you remain in the Clinic. Know your facts ANON because you look like a fool.
I never said that I have financial problems. I said that I am not rolling in money. Meaning, I don't have so much that I don't have to be responsible and vigilent not to put my family in harms way. The only people that I look like a fool to are the free loaders. Anyone expecting to get something for free look like scavengers.

Well unlike ANON i didn't grow up in gallipolis but i still go to holzer clinic for care. i have seen several doctors in surgery, opthamology, urology, medical specialties, family practice, and gynecology. Did I care for every doctor I seen? No but does anyone like every doctor(person) that they see? NO I don't think so! Has everyone that I ran into at the clinic nice and helpful? No not at all. But if you all are thinking that the clinic/hospital staff is stupid, rude and uncaring, etc then your also wrong. I have ran into some good knowledge people at the clinic. and just remember that customer service is there job but everyone has bad days even--and although you are to leave those problems at home it's hard sometimes. And just remember people aren't raising there kids like they used to so people, education, and personalities are def. going to change. You can see the differences in generations already.

I can't say anything but great things about the ped's department especailly Dr. Kang Lee he has always been awsome with my son and he knows him on a first name basis wether we are in the office or out in public. When his father was in Iraq fighting for us everytime we would see him the first thing out of his mouth was how's your dad and is he back from the war yet. With all the patients that he sees he still remembered that. There was one year at Christmas my son was in the hospital sick and he got my son a Christmas gift just because he wanted to. The ped's department is some of the most caring and understanding people i have ever been around. They always treated me and my son with compassion and sensitivity. I would never have my son treated any where else. You have good and bad everywhere if you use your mind you would know that.

I will argue with you about the peds department they have saved my childs life 2 different times. If it was not for 2 of the ped's doctors my 11 year old son would be dead right now so you can't tell me that there dept. is bad. We all have our opinions but you can't convince me that they are bad it's just not possible.

Trust me I hope you and you child are happy and healthy. But as far as the care that your child got you must be one of the lucky ones. I usually hear HORROR stories about that department. Lots of internnet- facebooking-Ipod -cell phone "working" at midnight!!

I pay my bills ,Im worried about thoes who are having money problems
As far as health care in Gallia county Dr. karrs office is a great place to take children he is located at the Silver Bridge plaza. As far as billing the office is great they take pride in helping each PT as they walk into the building. The front desk workers are not rude I have never seen them turn away a child. unlike Holzer who many people have seen how they have turned away kids.

Lots of rude people at Holzer
I have also seen people be rude to nurses at Holzer ,but only after they were treated like a Farm Animal.I will not be treated like Im a farm animal I am a person just like you I pay my bills and encourage everyone to also pay. A Hospital and or Clinic should always see all Children who come to them sick never kicked out or turned away. If a hand out is what a child needs then that is what you do a hand out!

Do you realize that Dr. Karrs is a DO not an MD. Keep taking your kids there. Hopefully they won't have anything wrong with them that would warrant a true MD. But, it sounds like he takes freeloaders.

Dr. Karr is a D.O. and he is a great person. He is possibly the best doctor in the county. If you see him he will sit down with you and listen to what you have to say. I find that D.O. are all about healing and not so much about pushing drugs on their pt. Try it or are you scared you might like it and see how a real practice operates. Holzer needs to take some pride in the pt they see!!

Free, freedom,liberty,independence and human rights
We are all in charge of our own bodies. Why is it some of us like to see others fail and suffer. What makes you better than someone who needs help with health care? How could any "health care worker" turn away a child? How could you take pride as a health care worker and work for such a establishment that turns away children because a parent is not able to pay up front. A service is provided by a doctor along with a nurse and most of the time the medical issue is not resolved with one visit. most of the time trial and error are used to rule out one diagnosis to lead to the final diagonsis right. So the establishment needs to support the staffs finances untill the resolution of the individuals medical problem then the PT could be billed and payment could be worked out. Facts-

Well The girls at the front desks either do what they are told or loose their jobs. If it were up to them they wouldn't turn anyone away. Some employees actually care about patient care but there is only so much they can do without loosing their jobs.

I agree i work for a dr. and it is policy that you have to have some money to be seen they don't work for free they have bills to pay just like you and i do they r human to. Dr's and there staff have rules that they have to follow to keep there jobs. Jobs are hard to find these days.

Stand up and do the right thing! So you never know who you are turning care away from- what if the Childs parents stood up for others quit the job at the establishment and fell into hard times because they stood up for what is right! think about it and be nice you never know who you are turning away!!!! Too many chiefs and not enough indians

I know "way too much" about Holzer - it used to be totally awesome - it is now out of hand! Did you know that an office call at Ohio State University is $25 cheaper than at Holzer Clinic? Did you know that the doctors are being pressured to order every test they can get patients to agree to in order to make more money? Did you know that your doctor (only a very few) that has treated you for years will not treat you in the hospital? Did you know that the staff is being pushed to schedule more patients for any minor medication need and won't order meds without being seen? Did you know that when your doctor is out, you can't get refills because other doctors won't approve them? DID YOU KNOW that this is not what Dr. Charles Holzer, Jr. wanted this medical facility to become - may he rest in peace!

I find it hard to believe that so many people are that unhappy with Holzer. If you don't like it go somewhere else. You can't go to a grocery store or buy your gas or cigs. and not pay for them why should you be allowed to be treated without paying. I have been in the waiting room and heard pt's complain because they had to pay for a $10. cough med. But they can go out and buy there beer and cigs. just fine. No wonder children are turning out as bad as they are right now, ther're following in there parents footsteps.
