How does someone get "hit" by a car?????????Are these people not looking left, looking right and left again???????I find this so hard to believe.I never cross a road until im 1000% sure its ok.Seems simple to me.

It is my understanding the accident was at 4 a.m.-ish. I have to wonder just how cognizant of his surroundings Mr. Garrett was at 4 a.m. on New Years morning?

What I'm not understanding is how could he have gotten hit by 3 cars let alone 1. From my understanding my brother was walking in the pedestrian lane and was clipped and you mean to tell me that no one is being charged for this?

Cognizant enough to know his way home. He had walked pretty far already and no one had hit them till that time.

I bet not only was he in the street, but also wearing dark clothing like that last one that was hit. If I was black I would never walk on the side of the road. Dark skin, dark cloths... come on...

In my experience, it's actually extremely difficult to get hit by a car. Unless a car comes off the road onto a sidewalk or such- of which I still believe I could avoid - then who's at fault?! I'll go on record right now to say that I will NEVER get run over by a car as a pedestrian.

It's a 4 lane divided highway and HE WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! He was not in a pedestrian lane and there are not good street lights in the area of the accident. None of the drivers had been drinking.

You are right. This man was in the middle of the road with a drink in his hand, that is why he was hit by three different cars who did not see him.

sad no matter why or how it happened. No one wants to get that call telling them a loved one is dead. Of course his family would wonder how 3 different cars could hit him.

If he was drinking and was in the middle of the road, wearing dark clothing, and was a black man(dark skin) maybe once the hurt settles with the family then maybe it will be more understanding how it happened

What does his color have to do with it? So what if he was a black man in dark clothing. If you are alert when driving you should be able to see ahead of you. If he was in the middle of the road then he should have been spotted. Im concerned as to why no one is being charged. So if someone is killed when walking there is no justice to be served. Why would someone leave the scene of an accident like this if they were innocent. My concience would not let me sleep. Open your eyes to reality. If this were an officer of the law this would be a different story. " Only In Gallatin"!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. Danny, you will be missed

We came by about 10 minutes before the time that the police say that this happenned and there was a man dressed all in black (that was hard to see until up on him) and he was standing on the side of the road taking a pee. I am sure this was the same man. The people who hit him did not leave the scene of the accident as someone stated above. I know the people personally and know what they are going through because of this accident. They are very saddened and upset. This was a tragid accident. Hearts go out to his family and friends.

No one is being charged because it was an accident people, come on! No one left the scene either and no one other than the pedestrian had been drinking! I think we have all at one time or another come up on a pedestrian on the side of the road at night and nearly scared the crap out of yourself by not seeing them until right up on them. I am a family member of one of the drivers and our whole family is distraught and saddened by this accident. Doesn't matter if he was black, white, purple or green, the same fact still remains, it was a horrible accident. Our hearts go out to the victim's family as well as all involved.

Why does color continue to be an issue. This is a tragic accident. I knew this young man. A good father and son. Maybe he had a few drinks, but not enough to know how to cross the road. I live in Gallatin and i know people speed in this area a lot. The person who hit him first should not feel that they did nothing wrong. Even dressed in black they should have seen him. This is a well lit area. I hope this is something you relive the rest of your life. Bless this family. And i hope they continue to persue this issue until justice is served.

Why is color an issue? This is a well lit area. Danny was a good father, friend and son. He may have had a few drinks, but not enough that he could not cross a road that he used everyday. I hope the person that hit him first does not feel that he is innocent. I hope the family continues to persue this issue. Bless this family and RIP Danny
